I'm working on Bannon's Chop^2 (from Impossibilia). A few issues that arose:

1. Did anyone find a good "head" to use for the head load gag?

2. When you load the walnut (or the head, unless it's made of soft material), does it make noise? I'm using a metal cup and I'm trying to figure out how to do these two loads silently.

Thanks for any advice!

You can line the cup with felt.

You could also spray the walnut with clear "Plasti-Dip". I get that idea from the 3 shell boot camp dvd where Glenn Morphew talks about customizing his shells for better grip.

I have a very small chop cup - https://www.rnt2.com/don-alan-mini-chop-......ish.html I use two steel balls from the "ball and tube set" they both will stick and work as a chop ball plus I have a nice pinball for a final. You mus be very careful about the noise but it can work. I have considered spraying the clear Plasti-Dip to the inner part of the cup. Just one idea I am playing with. I love experimenting, I think I missed my calling as a scientist. Oh nevermind, I forgot you have to be smart to do that. Smile

I love this routine and use my own cup for the reasons you mention (and others).

Yup, not a bad idea. Any idea where to find a rubber head and a rubber walnut?

Someone on this site sells rubber walnuts for the "nut routine" but I cannot remember whom.
Search around. you'll find it. the good news is that you can use the rubber walnut for both routines.

For very realistic looking walnuts you can try Randi Rain: http://www.raincloudmagic.com/foam-props/

Or Michael Mosher or Wack-o-magic: http://www.wack-o-magic.com/walnuts.html

There are a number of rubber ball "heads" available. Look at the 3" monster heads at: https://www.epicgiftables.com/products/c......16290440

Or do a search for Madballs (a novelty from the 80s) and you'll find a bunch of funny versions available (usually on eBay).

I have a few of Franks chop cups and they are great for this routine and I have rubber walnuts from wack-o-Magic, they work well. You can find the mr bob police head on Amazon from 3rd party vendors.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm playing around with some erasers in the shape of a walnut and a head, but I like the idea of the 3" head or even Madballs. (I remember those!) The erasers are nice but I think I might want the 3" heads just for the extra size.

(I couldn't find the mr bob heads on amazon.)

One magician I know smears clear latex caulk inside his cups, and he loads cue balls!
