Hi,
I've been addicted to magic for past 55 years as a 'hobbyist'. Briefly performed Children's magic, but realised this did not give me the satisfaction I needed. Have performed on stage and cabaret for friends and friends of friends. I no longer perform stage magic as I found my comfort/satisfaction zone is in Close-up, Mentalism, Cards, etc. I love using apparatus based effects, Magic Wagon, Viking, etc. I'm not a comedian - it always looks sad if I try to be funny. Instead, I milk humorous situations that the experience of magic often provides and this works well for me. I don't use long storylines, but believe an effect should have clarity, be direct, leave them unaware of any suspicious actions, maintain their interest with correct pacing and, most importantly, leave them without a clue! I'm a long term member of the London Society of Magicians, and also worked for a few years at Davenports selling, demonstrating & advising. (Good) Magic continues to excite & motivate me and the Magic Café will offer further dimensions to my addiction! Best wishes to all, Ray |

Welcome Raymond42,
I enjoy it when I can perform for Families and the occasional Adult Close-Up Strolling situation. A little variety is nice for me. It is always good to find the Audience that you respond to the most (they are usually the Audience that will respond to you the most). I'll see you in the Close-Up fora. -Mary Mowder |
