I like Geoffrey Latta's "Stand Up Spectaor's Coins Across". I remember that Gary Kurts did a similar routine.
I use Ross Bertram's "Passing the Half Backs" too. Instead of the first steal, I use Gaoff Latta's "GP Bottom Steal". It is described in Richard's Almanac and works well for me. Tomoo

I have a four coin version I explain in my lecture. It involes some HPC, S.....ng, and some other bits of buisness.
It's not published yet but will be soon. Justin Miller |

David Stone has a nice one called one way into the spectatos hand, and another using HPC. Hows the book coming along Jon, not heard anything about it?

Harry,
I stand corrected. You did of course write Tarbell 7. By the way, regarding coins across with just 4 coins, I would refer anyone to my book 21st Century Coin Mechanics where my original work is explained in chapter 17 under the heading "Boomerang Coins". This can be done stand-up and essentially surrounded. As mentioned earlier (2 years ago), it uses no gaffs, pretended placements, and there is no counting of coins from hand to hand. I probably perform this routine more than any other. ![]() |

Paul Cummins' "Underhanded Coins Across" is one of my favorite 4 coin no gaff coins across.

Oh, and BTW... why sweat "no extra coin" if the effect is strong and the handling is easier?

Pete,
If it is done equally well, I agree with you. IF, on the other hand the "holding out constantly" that must be done, is not too good, then I think it will suffer. Without an extra coin there are "rest periods" where you are clean and you minimize the time you are dirty. Makes for a cleaner presentation. |

When not using any extras or gaffs, we run against closed hands and credulity problems. It's so easy to expect them to be simpleminded about the consequences of false transfers and to believe we really have "so many" in our closed hands. The problem comes in when we don't justify the transfers or even set up an aesthetic for the closed hand. Check out Al Schneider's coins across routine for a good example where the displays and closed left hand is well justified by an aesthetic principle in action. By the way, that uses three silvers, an odd coin and no extras or gaffs.

I seem to have lost the address to Al's site. Can someone post it here for those of us who are interested?

On the Coins Across DVD there is a coins across with only four coins, and one with only three coins.

I am sure its been said, but Shoot has some great coins accross, and he also works with a ton of matrix stuff. I had the chance to hang out with him at a convention and he just blew my mind with trick after trick. I also bought his dvd and learned a few things off of it that I use all the time. I am semi new so some of it was hard for me at first. I have a few friends that have been doing this for a while now and are very good. They helped me out alot.
