I've always experimented with routines for the candles as a kid but never actually performed with them. I recently picked them up again and realized how practical they can be. (and probably how powerful effect they can be) For those with true experience with Fantasio Candles... Approximately how far should the audience be to give the proper effect of a "real candle". also, I searched it earlier but don't believe I found anything, but does what are good holders? Rather, to secretly load candles in my coat somewhere. Just looking 4 ideas....

I only do candles in my stage shows as part of my stage act. If this is the case, the normal stage to audience distance is plenty fine for the illusion to be made complete.

Also, on most stages and stage acts, you also have lighting that will also play a factor in the illusion of a real candle.

I would reccomend getting the 2 videos that Fantasio put oput as a lecture at the Magic Castle. I would also look into his book as he has some wonderful ideas in there as well.

Hope this helps you.

I have used the Fantasio Candles in my 'Talk act' I have done at banquets and in homes for 40 years. They are always amazed when I turn it into a silk.

At one birthday party in a living room, the mother yelled out, "Watch that Wax dripping on my carpet". I was stunned at her reaction.

I had to laugh at myself. She really thought it was a real candle. I would say 6' is fine.

To an audience of magicians? There is no distance far enough. We know of these products. To a lay audience, who suspects you are holding a genuine candle? Around 12ft or so.

We also must remember that a lay person has no idea that these products even exsist. Because of this, they are not supecting anything to be out of place or abnormal.
