As a first time attendant to the ECSS I was blown away! As mentioned the performances were superb. I was honored to have Blind Eye Magi set up in the Dealer room to showcase my humble offerings. Meeting all my online friends and making new ones face to face was perhaps the greatest takeaway.
I have been entertained, inspired and motivated by each and every person I saw there and already look forward to attending ECSS V!

I have attended all four years and a the good Professor says they just keep getting better. It was great to connect with old friends and make some new ones. The drive in was expensive, (speeding ticket) and the drive home took it's toll on my back. I may be flying next year.

I made it into work today. Tired, but had a great time. Until next year!!!
The Redroom is also why this event is such a success. A chance to joke and talk with people who have similar performance ideas. Doc |

I too have attended all four and it is true that the unconventional convention keeps getting better. Thanks Prof BC for your kind comment on the event pins. Although the idea to have them wasn't mine the design and execution were, and a labor of love. Was neat to see everyone wearing them.
Also a special mention of thanks for the judges of the screaming goat competition (Paul, Rolando and Prof BC) who provided constructive feedback on each performance. It was also a pleasure for me to speak with David Parr and Aiden Sinclair who are two truly wonderful performers and nice guys. It is hard to say what the best performance of the session was but I must say for me it came from Perkins. A flawless strong presentation. Looking forward to ECSS V...it's going to be a long year..... |

Perkins' performance was wonderful. My wife and I have been quoting that opening line, which I will not spoil here, ever since. I am not sure I've ever seen a more memorable opening line.
As always, wonderful performances, wonderful workshops. I have never not come up with multiple routines on my drive home from ECSS and this is no exception. I begin this year full of inspiration and drive and can't wait until next year.

Such great info—thanks to everyone who has posted some reports this far. I do SO wish we could see videos of select presentations or Goat performances; Perkins’ turn sounds wonderful, and my curiosity is piqued about Vince’s Goat routine!
I assume folks enjoyed the Phantoms presentation/lecture? Any mention of Term Life..? (I’m assuming that is far off in the future mists...) Ahhh, I hope to return next year. What a blast of a time with some amazing folks..! Seth |

The phantoms presentation was phenomenal
it makes me regret that I don't have it, but the story and the weaving of seeing how the evening would unfold were a joy

This was my first time at ECSS.
Weather was a lot cooler than expected but this year has been colder for everyone. People were cool. Only person I didn't like was Witch Doctor Chris, and that's only because he looks a lot like a guy I work with; Kevin. And Witch Doctor Chris was everywhere. So, every time I saw Witch Doctor Chris, he reminded me of work. The women did an amazing job in their show. I don't know if they've done any workshops or lectures in the past, but I'd be interested if they do some in the future. Had a great time talking to the people I got a chance to talk with. Wish there was time to meet everyone but yeah....that usually doesn't happen. Hope to be there next year.

I have it on good authority that ECSSV is going to be the best yet.

I wasn't there, but I would like to thank any attendees who purchased any of my cribs from Vic Nadata.
I think Vic is a little short on some of my cribs. I'm hoping to get fresh supplies to him before I head out of northern Italy and Israel on Feb. 9. So if anyone didn't find some of my cribs at ECSS, they should be available in the next few weeks. |

I've got to say the ECSS was meant to be. A week earlier and the weather would have taken its toll on attendance. I'm looking at the weather now and the next two days really suck.

What an amazing weekend. I would attempt a list of highlights but I’m afraid I would just end up listing out everything that happened for 4 days. This is fact, not hyperbole. Every moment of ECSS is so carpeted wall-to-wall with moments of interaction and inspiration that it’s almost overwhelming. I’m still processing thoughts and images as they float to the top of my mind. I have also, along with a carry on bag crammed with arcane treasures, returned home with a souvenir head/chest cold from Satan himself. How fitting.
Okay, I’ll try. Here goes: the intricacies of revelation in Phantoms with Prof BC, the deliberate, emotional resonance of Vlad’s Funeral Parlour, that wonderful glow of that standing ovation after the fantastic Ladies Night Show, the unflappable Steve Gibson and the entire ECSS crew as they herded cats and organizied chaos, the tone and control of The Anne Séance by Witchdoctor, character and presentation incite from Paul Prater, Victorian epiphanies with Paul Voodini, TWO pitch perfect peculiar performances from Sylvia Sceptre, meeting up with ol’ ForumFriends and ConferencePals… and on and on and on… The strength and diversity of the performances and lectures was mind boggling. No video will ever come within striking distance of the real thing. It’s immersion therapy. Find your people gathered there. Riff, reexamine, share, trade, hone, learn and challenge yourself. I was so racked with nerves before my performance — for the first time in front of in front of so many of my bizarre heroes and friends — that at one point I would much rather have waded out into the sea than go through with it. I’m so glad I did. Thank you so very much for the kind words. I left ECSS IV exhilarated and energized. This past weekend will propel me through another year of Voyages in the Dark. Until next year. In Gratitude, Perkins

I wanted to say what a marvelous job everyone did at the conference! Vlad, Steve and Rich, thank you! A special thanks to Lenny! It was a pleasure to meet my good friend "Nobody" Jones in person! There will be more exclamation points!
I could not possibly thank everyone and give them justice, but I would like to say what a fantastic job everyone did in the Screaming Goat competition!! Humor, drama and above par performances by all! Not a single performance will be lost to memory and the winner, Sylvia Sceptre, was without doubt deserving of the grand prize! My co-contributors were all winners and would be hard pressed to challenge in any venue of magic! I was certainly humbled by their presence on the stage I was honored to share with them.

What an amazing few days spent in the company of friends old and new! Highlights for me included Perkins' remarkable performance piece, the super-talented (and worthy Screaming Goat winner) Sylvia Sceptre, and Vince Wilson's remarkable and highly entertaining recovery from disaster during the competition. We laughed, we cried, we drank far too much! Until next year, my friends!

I was at the Ocean Dunes resort at elevator along with a couple that were not attendees of the ECSS. While we awaited the elevator, I showed them my latest acquisition - - a set of Ghosts of America Cards depicting the most haunted places in the United States. After exhibiting some of the cards, I turned them face down and let the wife choose one of the cards. She happened to choose Ocean Dunes Dana, about a possessed elevator at that very resort. The elevator arrived and we entered. As I pushed the button for my floor, a shower of sparks flew from the panel.
The couple decided to take the stairs. Wasn’t it wonderful that the creative Dan Baines of Lebanon Circle designed a special Ghosts of America card for those attending ECSS IV. Sylvester the Jester markets an incredible !@#$**n r**g. |
