Got my whole punch at "Michaels", a hobby/craft store here in the U.S. (3/4 inch - 1.91cm)
And for those that have it, I found you can eliminate the "tape", and use either Science Friction or Plasti-Dip on the back of the ACME "hole" card for a cleaner handling. Or, use both. |

So, upon opening the wallet the spec sees the card clearly with the hole through it. Then just slide the card out with my thumb. |

Especially since I would probably want to carry the Acme cards inside something like that anyway, may as well put it to good use and have it further earn it's keep by doing double duty and acting as a convincer as well. Great idea, thanks for sharing tomdeg!!! |

Hi Gary, can you buy this in the UK ? my experience with Penguin is that it took 3 weeks for my order to arrive,
it was one of your tricks "Upper Hand" which I love, but just too long to wait. Thanks, Paul |

Just a note to those who have not yet purchased this, and are asking where to get a hole punch. Just received my packet of materials today from Penguin, and it came with ten 'pre-punched' cards. So, it's not necessary to purchase a hole punch....

If you intend to do this often then you will need to make more gimmicks (each gimmick takes seconds to make, and it's a great way of using up old playing cards lol) so a hole punch would be needed. I know of a few magicians who just keep this for the top table at weddings etc, I like to perform it at every table so a few minutes prep work and I make 10 at the time. The download just covers the basics (well it's better than the written instructions of old lol) but another way of doing this is.....After they have signed the card ask them to put their hands in the prayer position and slide the card between their palms, now the magic happens in their hands and you are nowhere near them. Another way is to pop the card into their pocket/purse/wallet, you can, if you wish, leave part of the card extending from the pocket/purse/wallet so they can still see their writing....you know the rest It's an open book, I just gave the bare bones, it's up to you to take it to the next level with YOUR presentations and handlings ;-) Thank you everyone for your input so far, very much appreciated. Gary Jones.

For those of you who use Mark Bendell's Bag4Life you can incorporate Cartoon Capers with this......Draw two black circles on each side of the bag and cover them with the coin. Perform Cartoon Capers and then ask if they would like to actually see the "invisible hole" you now bring out Bag4Life - After displaying the coin inside the bag you now pull the coin right through and immediately hand them the bag for them to examine I did this yesterday, and trust me, it plays much better than it reads! (actually it reads very good too lol)
Just a note, if you are wearing black, when you remove the coin it really does look like there is a hole in the bag Have fun! Gary Jones.

Just got my order from Penguin, (after making my own following the instructional video).
They DID include several pre-punched cards, as well as a pre-made gimmck. Only thing is, they put the tape on the OUTSIDE of the gimmick!! (I have eliminated the tape from my workings anyway.) |

"As a 'Thank You' I would love to send you my lecture notes (three sets),"
and perhaps you can offer great additional handlings for those too! What I like is to see generosity being rewarded with generosity. Steve Rowe is another name that springs to mind when it comes being willing to let an idea develop in public even though the original seed was his to keep. I could have kissed Gary when he revealed Plastic Dip. May be I'll surprise him one day. |
