Does anyone know of a high end or thicker quality Crystal tube being made anywhere? Any ideas are much appreciated.

By "crystal tube", do you mean a crystal silk blow tube, a mirror silk tube, or a crystal silk cylinder?
If you mean crystal silk blow tube: http://www.smmagic.com/?p=323 If you mean crystal silk cylinder: Dazzling Magic (Marty Hahne) makes a Crystal Silk Cylinder Supreme, but it isn't listed on his site right now. There is a choice of colours for the cover (I own a blue one). http://www.dazzlingmagic.com/categories/Magic-We-Make/ David Ginn has the Dazzling Magic one listed on his website, with a photo. http://www.ginnmagic.com/index.php?page=......Itemid=1 - Donald

P.S. Dazzling Magic's Crystal Silk Cylinder Supreme and Dazzling Magic's Test Tube Bunny are different props, and different sizes. Just thought I should mention that because in the pages I've linked to, they are each shown with a red cover.

You can make one also. What I like is to go to the fabric section and find cheap light fabric that matches the theme you are trying for. I just got satin that was light (not as light as silk) but I can get patterns on material. I got my tube from the pet supply section (you could go to a plastic tube of higher quality I am sure) and found really cool duck tape. and put around the ends of the tube in order to distract from the secret. That's it homemade blow tube.
If you really want you could make really big blow dart looking thing load it in the tube after the effect and tell parents you sell an aid to help them get there children to sleep easier. I haven't done this yet. But my hopes is to create a dart that when blown through the tube turns into a fake chicken and falls to the floor. Sorry haven't posted in a while I had some big changes going on in my life. ALL GOOD THOUGH. |

Dan Wolfe makes the best one on the market. Plus his gimmicks are superior. I use it in almost every show. And I use large 18" silks.

I was at a magic lecture by Silly Billy a few weeks ago, and he was using one too (he used a different crystal silk blow tube in the routine on his video). - Donald

I recently saw an advert for a new crystal tube, sans elastics. I cannot remember where I read about it. Anyone?

It does not look like they are tied together. Best version imo is Smokey Mountain Magic's "Groovy Silk Blow Tube" . https://www.smmagic.com/blog1/?product=groovy-silk-blow-tube .Currently listed as out-of-stock , but hopefully he will make more. If you are determined to get the w/o bands method I think Ickle Pickle Magic is the source - https://icklepicklemagic.com/index.php?r......t_id=101 |

I agree that the Silly Billy photo looks more like tied kerchiefs.
I had a double color changing handkerchief that was sewn together and looked the same way as on the right. Mine was acetate and I had some matching cloth so I made little "tied corners" and sewed them on. It really helped If you already own the magnetic ones, I'd suggest getting some corners from old silks and see if that helps. By the way, I save old silk to practice with for hank ball stuff that wears out your best silk. Of course you always practice some with the new silks but why not save a little wear and tear? - Mary |

I have Rice double color changing handkerchiefs which is a good quality prop, but even so I think your idea of adding the tied corners makes a lot of sense. The tricky part will be finding silk with an exact color match. Hopefully the double color changing hanks are standard color Rice silk (they "new" Rice Silk King Studio still has a limited supply of Rice Spectrum silks they sell . https://silkkingmagic.com ) Quote:
