I was thinking about going to the Chris Capeheart lecture at magic apple on the 18th.
All I know about it is that it is about street magic. If you know anything about him, or have seen him lecture before, let me know if I should go.

Thanks,
Monkey

Greetings and Salutations,

While I'm not certain, I think you're refering to Chris Capehart, who is well-known for an amazing three-ring linking ring routine he perfected on the streets of NY.

I do not believe he has much in common with what is currently associated with "street magic" at least that brand of magic which could be loosely described as "guerilla"-style magic.

Capehart was a busker, meaning he had an act, would draw a crowd, perform his act, and collect his hat, and then do the whole thing over again.

I would go, were I in a position to do so. YMMV

Chris is a true gentleman, superior magician, and a real street magician, that is to say that he is a busker and does a show on the street rather than assault people with magic! He actually earned a living doing magic on the streets.

He has forgotten more about doing magic on the streets for money than most people will ever know. If you want the real inside stuff on what works and how to make it work then don’t miss the lecture.

You’re pulling our legs right? If not, then check out Chris’ Three Ring routine published in the New Stars of Magic Series. Also check out his Three Ring DVD that came out within the past year. These are the easiest to find.

Or buy the DVD directly from Chris at his website: http://www.chriscapehart.com/

Check out some photos of Chris in action at:
http://www.magicmusicandmore.com/capehart.html

Or how about a short bio at:

http://www.houdiniclubofwisconsin.com/20......hart.htm

Bottom line is that Chris Capehart is one of hundreds of brilliant, skillful, full-time, professional magicians that generally go unsung and unheard of. Fortunately, Chris’ ring routine has become legendary and garnered him a little fame late in his career.

I had the pleasure of seeing Chris at the Heart and Soul of Magic (hosted by Denny Haney) in Fairfax, VA about 2 months ago.

This guy is a riot. You will enjoy every part of his show/lecture.

The thing that impressed me most was how dynamically and effortlessly he controlled and interacted with the audience. It didn't matter what was thrown at him, Chris was able to use the moment to his advantage and for the amusement of the audience.

His thumbcuffs routine inspired me to want to include something similar in my performances.

He is an impressive performer and a really nice guy.

A must see if you ever intend to work streets. Chris is a source of real info not often shared.
