I received mine from mindfx and I really like it.
Isabella’s Star 3 will make a really good performance piece and once mastered will look great. I’ll be performing this for people stood alone at a gig or for couples. Isabella’s Star 3 doesn’t require P**k, Sw*m*, PW and so on, all of the traditional techniques are still accessible when performing alongside the routine. This is a big plus for me. There’s some excellent thinking here and it is well worth learning. Joel.

I confess that it amuses me that before the release, there were 22 pages pages packed solid with heated, contentious and frankly sometimes ludicrous drivel.
Then when its out there, we get 1 page of "Ive got it" or "I'm waiting". Perhaps this is why the private facebook/forums get massive interest for a few days or weeks, then slowly fade away into obscurity (which is why I never ever take the promise of a private group into consideration when deciding whether or not to purchase). Its a fine publication though, and I get a bit more out of it each time I read it. |

My comment regarding receiving it was particularly targeted to those in the US that were anxiously awaiting. It was to denote a heads up that their copies should be arriving soon. Perhaps that was too implicit, but it wasn't intended to add to the "drivel."
As my free time has been very short this week, I've only made it partially through the book, but it's a fantastic blending of methods. I love it! Thanks Pete for sharing this gem! -Adam |

I thought I'd leave it to others to comment now that it's out there. However, in the spirit of sharing here's a presentational idea that didn't make it into the book, partly because I thought of it late in the day and partly because I didn't want there to be too many additional comments in there from me. Some of you may like it. We are all conditioned to be really guarded when it comes to revealing personal information. Even something like a date of birth can be quite personal to people, so it often helps in mindreading to find a way to depersonalise things so that it's easier to establish a connection. Ask the participant to picture themself in a restaurant. They are with friends, celebrating their birthday. As the night draws on they notice a large group in the corner of the room with a man sat at the end, who is also celebrating and clearly shares the same birthday. Focus on this person's qualities blah blah blah. Continue as normal and then when the name is chosen let it be that person's name. Ask them to picture singing 'Happy Birthday to You' etc. and then reveal the name part as part of the song. It ties in the birthday and name aspects, and as a bonus means that gender won't be an issue.

That's a really nice idea for a presentation, Steve. Helps disguise the random nature of the name reveal.

As far as the activity on Facebook groups it comes down to how complex, flexible or complete the product is. If the product is very complex you will get a lot of "How do I" activity, if it is very flexible you will get a lot of ideas posted and if it is unworked or incomplete you will get a lot of fixes and improvements. If however the product is straight forward and complete and well worked there will be very little activity.
When it comes to IS3 it is complete and extremely well worked and well documented but it is both complex and very flexible and so it could go either way. The detail in the book and all of the different scenarios covered help with the complexity. The flexibility may generate some ideas and activity but the routine is so well worked and developed that many will perform it as written. More reviews will come when people have been able to learn and digest the routine. It really is a thing of beauty and the book has been written in a way that completely breaks each element down into manageable chunks. Mark |

Hey Mark,
Just an annoying side note here... Had my Opechius (?) cards out on my table at a show, and some girl stole one of the cards. Zero class lol. 252Grrrr

I agree with Mark, there is a lot to learn and digest with this routine - so I think that delays insightful comments. I'm exited to learn this routine - there are so many techniques and principles that are not only applicable to this effect, but can be allied to other effects as well. Peter has shared so much detailed thought with this, it's a real treasure of ideas. Also, I absolutely love having the video links to see Peter in action performing this routine. Seeing the timing, phrasing, and rhythms of how he works is beyond helpful.

Nearly 25 pages of guff and not one real mention of what can actually be achieved with this effect - Typical Turner.
I am impressed with how far Turner has come in terms of his presentational skills but it seems he’s still operating with the same hype tactics he was slammed for the last time I was on here. Can I hear an actual account of content from someone who owns the book? Is there a full uncut performance provided with this? - the ‘teaser’ didn’t really tease me more pushed me to believe this is a pipe dream. Is this really possible? Frankie |

And if that's your view I would recommend you don't buy it. Many people who have bought it have posted positively about it. They have confirmed that the routine provides a propless way of determining a star sign, thought of name and date of birth. That's what can be achieved with this effect. If you remain suspicious then I respect that and your right not to buy it. But it is possible. It isn't a pipe dream. And those who have received it have said so.

The newspaper idea is something I used to do back in the day -using Marc Paul's PA, I think it was. Ask them to imagine that they are reading their horoscope in a magazine, as you tend to pick things up visually. It gives quite a plausible justification for working with letters (not that you would say that, of course -just ask them to visualise the horoscope column and their printed star sign and start picking up what they are looking at...). |

Frankie - no offence taken. I appreciate the motivation for your request and it's fair to say that I'm biased. But not fair to refer to me as one of Peter's entourage. I happen to have worked on a book with him of which I am rightly proud. My view might be biased by association with the project but it is mine and not his. I take your point re. wanting to hear from unbiased buyers, but as far as I can tell a number of them have already commented. However, I'm not sure my assertions will appease you any further so I'll leave it there, and no offense is intended on my part either.
