I've just seen a new fresh feature. Birth year and age! That's genius ahah you guys are killing it. Wikitest is going to 2nd place for me, for sure.

Just to be clear this app now tells you their star sign, their age when they input their year, AND the day of the week they were born. It's a killer app.

Yup, very clever idea.

However, in the iphone 5 version, check the sizing in the percent screen (i can't see the current app version in the bottom) and the age in the equals screen (i'm a getting a random negative number next to the week day of birth).

The random negative number means you have the toggle switch of year/age switched to on. It needs to be off.

For mine, it gives the year if you input the age, not the other way around. If I put in the year, it gives a random negative number...

With the toggle switch to off, it gives a random number like 1834 or 235 in the age. Not working. Also, the week day is wrong. I've confirmed with a calendar and it is giving the wrong weekdays. Iphone 5 version needs testing and fixing.

Also be sure you have "year" set to 4 and not 3 otherwise you'll get random numbers.

Last Laugh, that's what the toggle switch is for. It decides whether they input their age or their year of birth.

The "year" set to 4 did it. It's perfect! weekday and age 100% correct. Good job guys.

Ok, I have done some testing and we have a miracle maker right here. Congratulation guys, I'm very happy with this app right now. In my opinion, with all due respect for the other magic apps in the market including wikitest, earworm, city prediction, inject, etc, if I could only have one app, this would be it. This app just killed the game.

A brief instruction manual for the settings would be great.

This app is absolutely amazing. I've been so highly impressed with all of the mentalism apps as of late.

This is very close to the top of the list for me. Almost beats out WikiTest for my favorite.

However I've noticed one small error so far that I can't explain.

For my fiance's birthday, it says she was born on a Tuesday. Yet she was born on a Wednesday. March 22, 1995.

Mine was the correct day though. So not sure why that is.

That's so strange.. Mine still says the same. Everything is correct for me except it says Tuesday.

Comments about specific settings and operations should not be here. Please move those questions to the facebook group or in pms as this thread is not intended for that.

I agree, this app has become so good, all of the details/exposure about the app that are in this thread should be deleted.

All of the apps that you mention have a motivated reason why someone looks up information on THEIR phone (not the magician's phone).

Cipher:
Magi: "Let's create a random number. Take my calculator and put in your date of birth".

Spec: "Can I use my calculator?"

Magi: "Ummmmm ....."
_______________________________________

In contrast apps like Inject, Wikitest, or City Prediction:

Magi: "Please go to Google.com on your phone so that we can look up the definition of a word (or your horoscope)".

Spec: "Sure".

The spectator KNOWS that their phone isn't gimmicked.

Looking up the definition of a word (or any other information) in Google is commonly accepted.
In fact, if a magician was to give the spectator a REAL dictionary, it would be more suspect than a google search.

I don't doubt that people are going to slay with Cipher. This is a wonderful utility in the toolbox of the modern magician.
Given the correct presentation, there are many spectators that will not put 2 and 2 together about inputting their data on the magician's phone.

Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of performing for those spectators.

You have a point. Apps like inject, wikitest and city prediction are great and, in some ways, are miles ahead of cipher. At the end of the day it all boils down to personal preference and what best serves our objectives and persona.

This app is good and gets strong reactions but Greg is right in that the other apps mentioned are virtually impossible to backtrack when thought about later. Calculators have a function called Memory Recall so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that some spectators will think you perhaps used that feature in some way. They type their date of birth into your calculator and now you are able to tell them their date of birth. I think this needs a lot of time misdirection.

I like this a lot but am realistic about limitations.
