Paulmagic, I just thought that I would share a presentation that has served me well over the past 10 years.
With the TT in position and the red hank near by, mention that our sins are considered to be black because they keep us from His light. Introduce either a black piece of paper or better yet a very small black sponge (approximately 1/4"). Place the black sponge into the TT and talk about accepting His grace and being washed by His blood, represented by the red hank. Stuff it all into the TT and show that just by acceptance, your sins are no more! I have received great responses from this and I hope that it is something that you might be able to use. I hope that this helps! Regarding the thread, I have had much success using anything from Bowl-a-Rama to the Professors Nightmare for my presentations. I am in a great position as I am a full time magician doing primarily corporate events. I have more magic than could possibly need (so why do I always want the newest/latest?). When I work gospel programs I try to custom tailor the effects for the message (if there is a specific theme). I have found that there is no shortage of ideas on how to use what we have to do His work. |

So as you talk about sin with the black silk, you secretly load the DT into your hand and then push in the black silk. Follow this with the red silk (representing the blood of Jesus) and as you start to push it in the 'black' silk will emerge white from the bottom of your fist. Ofcourse once you have shown the complete white silk, you are also able to show your hands otherwise empty! Cheers Billy |

Billy James,
Interesting ... I have a DT but have never used it as I am more comfortable with my TT (also a bigger load). But I like your idea and when I have time will try it out. Maybe a small black silk and red silk with a larger white silk? Or a more complicated but fun routnine with 2 TT and 1 DT? Hmm... thanks for getting my creative juices flowing.
Many Blessings!!

If you are thinking silks, consider the hank ball. It gives you an enormous load, and with Duane Laflin's handling (He has a great hank ball video ) it is as invisible as a TT.

Thanks! Searched the net and found our what a hank ball is. (I learn new things everyday)? But I am wondering - the description made it sound as if it was easy to hide amd use. A TT or DT is easy to conceal and use but the hank ball size looks pretty intimidating especially since I have small hands. Is it hard to learn? Thanks
Many Blessings!!

It takes a little more practice than a TT but BroDavid is correct, it gives you much greater possibilities.
The great thing about a hank ball is that working with it not only helps your silk magic but it does wonders for your ball manipulation. Time well spent in my book! |

This past sunday in my 5th and 6th grade Sunday School class, I used the cut and restored rope with a red silk, to demonstrate our sin problem and Jesus' sacrifice for our sins as the solution. I went over great. Can't wait to use more magic in the future!

My suggestion is that if you are considering a hank ball - (I get 10 - 10 Inch ssilks into mine). Then you should get Duane Laflins Hank Ball DVD.
I would never have even tried one, if I hadnt seen Duane's routine and his explanation of use of the Hank ball. But his DVD goes into the steals and everything. It is truly an awesome device. I am working on a complete routine structured a bit like Duane's, and really all of the same moves, but in a different sequence, and with different patter. But I would have never even thought of doing a full silk routine until I got his silk fountain dvd and hank ball dvd. His teaching is very thorough. BroDavid

I use a Hank Ball for my sponge balls routine. I agree that Laflin is the place to learn about these routines. I have several of Duane Laflins Videos and have learned a lot from him.

One that I like to use is the Stiff Rope.
I start by saying that we begin in this world without much shape or direction, like this piece of rope. However, if we reach up to God, (one end of the rope held high) he’ll reach down to us and take to his level, (meant as a pun) (rope is now being held in the center forming a horizontal line) the straight and narrow way. But the problem is, (rope falls limp) sometimes we forget. But the good thing is that if we reach back up to God, He’ll reach back down to us and take us to the right way, the righteous way, God’s way. (repeat same handling as before) Oh!!! I almost forgot, Andre Kole’s Pocket Gospel Illustration is about the strongest message packed into a trick that I have ever seen. http://www.andrekole.org/resource.html I only wish that there was a stage size. P.S. This is my 50th post. OOW-WEE!
