...until I can find a way where it won't be torrented, sold on Chinese websites for $1.49 and traded by and to people who don't deserve it... Unfortunately, Shawn that will never happen. As we're all aware, there have been rip offs of the Omni Deck and I'm sure that there are others on The Café that can speak of having their materials pirated as well. Sad to say.... Ben Franklin once said, "The only way to keep a secret among three friends a secret is if two are dead." Maybe I'll just settle for the fish instead. I do hear the salmon is extremely good this time of year. ~allen |

I think the routine Shawn did on Fool Us is fantastic. That being said there are ways of accomplishing the effect in your own way if you put your mind to it. I hope Shawn DOESN'T release it as this will inpsire others to make up their own way of achieving the end result.

I really love Shawn's material. The day I saw his performance on Penn & Teller I sent him a PM via the Café to ask if he's going to release it.
He didn't know back then and although I'm a huge fan of this routine I'm pretty happy that he hasn't released it yet... because I figured out that I never could present it as he did. Shawn's energy & style make this effect unique. For myself I will use a mixture of PandoraB. & Fully L. to achieve a signed card in sealed deck effect that fits my style. IF Shawn releases his (complete) routine some day I will definitely buy it to see his subtleties and to learn from a pro. ...and yes: hopefully it won't be shared via the internet. I hate those "penny pincher illegal download guys"! If you can't afford it get a job or don't buy it. Stealing is no option Cheers

I don't think that it's being disputed, and maybe words are being sparsed, that RSVP is a "technique" and Fully Loaded is a signed card "routine". Personally, for me, Fully Loaded is a complete routine of a signed card, in a sealed deck, in new deck order.
For years, I and others have understood and were expecting Shawn was releasing his "signed card". I understood that to mean a three part phased routine of a signed card, in a sealed deck, in new deck order. ~allen |

I'm still totally confused by the topic of this whole thread. The author wants you to compare two routines that are not similar, other than a deck of cards re-seals. Fully Loaded is a pick a card and sign it trick that ends with a signed card in a sealed deck. RSVP is not. In RSVP has no card picked nor any card signed. RSVP is a routine that encompasses three phases and is a slow restoration of a deck of cards. The deck starts new, is opened and shuffled and gradually restores itself to a sealed and signed card box. So the similarities are not such that anyone should compare the two. If you are looking to so a signed card in sealed deck RSVP is not an option. So why are you being asked to compare?

The whole point of this topic was not so much why to compare one versus the other, but again, for years, I and others had understood and were expecting a release of your "signed card" as demonstrated on Penn & Teller. I understood that to mean a three part phased routine of a signed card, in a sealed deck, in new deck order. My misunderstanding...
Help me to understand, I thought in having read about RSVP, RSVP is a "technique" not a "routine"? ~allen |

Allen,
OK, so why did you title the TOPIC: RSVP by Shawn Farquhar vs Fully Loaded by Mark Mason ? That's so misleading and makes no sense, you are asking people to compare two effects with almost nothing in common. Now you are saying "this topic was not so much why to compare one versus the other" but it is clear you used the 'vs" which is versus! duh, lol You wrote " I and others had understood and were expecting a release of your "signed card" as demonstrated on Penn & Teller" BUT I clearly stated it was not that routine. That you made a LEAP to a conclusion that is wrong, is not my fault. I clearly stated what it is and is not and you and a few others chose to either not read or understand what is clearly stated. I understand there could be some confusion if you believe I have only one trick to offer the magic community. that's why I included the disclaimer and STRESSED the fact I was teaching a technique with the RSVP routine. Let's make this crystal clear in this post so anyone reading this in the future, and who choose not to read the description of the effect will know what RSVP is and is not. No where do I say there is a SIGNED CARD, because there isn't. This video lesson has multiple lessons involved. It teaches the TECHNIQUE I used on Fool Us, on ELLEN and to win all five of my FISM awards just as it states in the trailer. The video lesson also teaches a full professional routine that uses material from David Acer, Sid Lorraine, Aldo Colombini and myself. RSVP offers a multiple phase routine where a new deck of cards is opened and slowly restores to a NEW DECK of cards that is SIGNED! The restoration of the sealed deck takes place in the spectators hand and is fully examinable. The box can be opened by the spectator and in fact they can even keep the deck, box and heck even the Sharpie if they want!!! RSVP is a routine, technique and handling.... it's above all else an exceptional effect that will fit into the act of anyone wanting to do amazing magic. I hope this post will help you to understand, sincerely. I can see you made a huge assumption and are having trouble seeing what is offered instead of what you hoped was being offered... It's a shame you chose to use the term VS in your topic heading. It makes no sense... Sincerely, -shawn There is another thread, where no one is asking people to compare or vs another effect: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......c=648462 Over there here's just one review: Jerry 100won: Got this and it is a great whole routine where each stage is well woven into the entire act. Effective version of oil and waters that is well constructed into the overall theme of the trick. Covers key pointers on the desk switch technique(main reason I got it) RSVP is a great stand alone effect. |

Fero, I agree that Fully Loaded is a great effect and I stated the same at the start of this thread. The plot is great and Mark's method is clever too. As I also stated elsewhere, the idea of comparing RSVP to Fully Loaded is stupid. They are not the same effect with different methods, they are different EFFECTS with different methods so it's impossible to compare them. Congrats Fero on your purchase of Fully Loaded, I' sure it will serve you well for years to come.
-shawn Colin (C.J.) you once again prove your limited capability to comprehend even the easiest of concepts. End of. |

Wouldn’t it make more sense to compare:
RSVP by Matthew Wright vs RSVP by Shawn Farquhar As at least they have the same name [and almost the same release date] So they have more in common than either vs Fully Loaded Or better still… Compare them both to RSVP magic as well So everyone… RSVP vs RSVP vs RSVP Any comments? And anyone who says that Shawn copied the name RSVP from Russ Stevens gets a Café temp ban |
