Is there any chance of getting the Rostami update video for those of us who don't use (and will not use) FB?

The video that Greg posted (detailing the features and changes to Inject 2.9) is not a YouTube video that is linked. Rather, it is a video that is uploaded directly to Facebook. I could link the video but only those with a Facebook account AND are members of the Inject Facebook Group would be able to see it.
Since the Inject Facebook Group is the official online support medium for Inject, my advice is to create a fake Facebook account that contains absolutely zero accurate personal information and then use that user profile to gain admission to the Inject Facebook Group. The number of magic creators that are relying on Facebook Groups to support their products is growing, not shrinking. The participation level is significantly higher in those various Facebook groups than it is here on Magic Café or on any other magic forum. Because the various Magic groups are private to a particular product, creators and users are MUCH more likely to share routine ideas, tips, additional props they've created to assist with the effect, etc. Having access to the Facebook Groups is a huge positive. Just create a fake account. You can even go to gmail first and create a new email address specifically to use for Facebook and only for Facebook. You can be "David Copperfield" if you want. Mark

And posting a link we cannot be forced to use is just being a smarmy jerk. Telling customers, "uh, well, make a fake account, so you'll still on FB but as someone else!" is moronic and antithetical to those of us who don't want to support or be on FB in any way, shape or form. There are simple, secure ways to set up actual (not shirty FB groups) support forums for better support. Greg has a website, but just won't do it. FB groups are simple/lazy frankly and don't offer a good end user experience. |

Greg posted a new message in the Inject Facebook Group today. This is what he posted regarding the iOS version of Inject 2.9:
"Regarding the iOS version: We found a few bugs with the version that we had submitted, so we had to submit a new version for approval. The good news is, the version that will be approved for iOS will have been tested by not only us, but also tested by the Android roll out." Mark

Thank you Mark for the update. I really appreciate it. You are so right about Facebook groups and more magic companies using private groups on Facebook to support their products. I personally hate everything about Facebook, its lack of ethics, and not respecting one's privacy. I tend to avoid it unless I get really stuck on something and need help. It is funny how happier I am when I don't use Facebook. I just wish creators would find another platform to use for discussions and support.
Once again, I truly appreciate your updates here on the Café. |

On Mar 15, 2022, The Mysterious One wrote: My pleasure, and thank you! I see the situation like this.. A fair number of magic vendors have chosen to use Facebook's Groups feature as their preferred method to offer product support and join in discussion with the owners/users of those products. It is what it is. If all of those vendors decided to move their product support to a private forum type arrangement, I'd participate in those forums too. Like I said, it is what it is. And there are FAR too many fun ideas and interesting things being discussed in those Facebook Groups for me to remotely consider NOT participating. Throughout the many magic-based Groups I subscribe too, I get to watch many videos posted by developers and users alike, not to mention a constant barrage of photographs. The Groups are a very visual medium because posting photos and videos is easy for everyone. Posting such visual media is far far less common in forums. People find it too challenging to host images elsewhere and then create hyperlinks to post in forums. With Facebook Groups, you just upload it from your phone. Bingo! A good example is the buy/sell areas here on Magic Café. The vast majority of listings do not contain any photos. Yet, many times, those very same sellers are posting the same item for sale over in one of the many Magic For Sale type groups and they *do* post photos! In fact, it is very rare that an item for sale does NOT include a photo over in Facebook Groups. And there are a LOT of things that get put up for sale in those Facebook Groups that never get posted in Magic Café. But, everyone has to make their own decision. Which brings us back to the point.. Greg has made a decision that the official place to support Inject is a Facebook Group. It is what it is. I can understand people deciding to not participate. But constantly complaining about the situation is akin to a dog barking at the moon hoping the light will shut off. Mark

I don’t align hoards of customers, stating concerns with a businesses choices, as the same as barking at the moon. But then again, in this situation you may be correct, based on Greg’s responses to these concerns. As for Greg’s self appointed spokesperson, it’s clear he just doesn’t understand the bigger picture with FB for many of us. Some people love Kool Aid, some don’t.

Bringing up valid concerns is akin to "Barking at the Moon(!)Mark?
You remain the same condescending, ignorant a-hole,wanna be gatekeeper/"expert" that it was a pleasure to block when I actually had a FB account. It's a shame that the Café's software is too ancient/outdated to offer that basic functionality (i.e. mute/block). |

Sadly I chose to leave the Facebook group due to the rudeness of a particular person who is one of Greg’s “official” team. This was after Greg had stated in the January of 2020 about a forthcoming upgrade of Inject that was about to be released, but nothing happened and after requesting updates, rudeness prevailed. I’m glad that, some two years later, there seems to be an update on the horizon. Not sure what it does however as I’m not part of the Facebook group and therefore can’t see Greg’s video!
Tbh, the main thing that I would like is to have a universal transmitter to avoid having to switch transmitters for different Inject effects whilst working.

Dear Inject users on iOS,
It's the moment that you've all been waiting for ... Inject 2.9 was just approved by Apple. You can update it now from the iOS App Store, or if you have auto-update, it will automatically update to the latest version. Here's a list of the new features: - Organize your presets in Folders. - Disabling your account is shown on the home screen ... You’ll always know if your account is on or off. - Customize your Account ID to anything greater than 3 characters ... easier to remember, less to type, and others can't guess your account. - The "Monitor" page has been replaced with "Google Peek" ... tap "Google Peek" to go to your Monitor page. - Your URL is displayed at the bottom of the Monitoring window. - The images-g**g*e.com site no longer needs swipe to pair. - The "web" tab settings have been moved to "Google Peek" ... do a left swipe on "Google Peek" to access your web page settings. - You no longer have to wait more than a minute, after leaving Inject, to get push notifications. - Inject now supports dark mode. The new Inject manual is being updated, as we speak, by Gordon Bellefeuille. That should be done in the next few days. In this new version of Inject, if you get too many push notifications from images-g**g*e.com, you can turn off "Monitor" under the "G**g*e Images Settings". We highly recommend that you turn on "Filter by Keywords", and enter a few keywords separated by commas. PLEASE NOTE ... turning off "Account Enabled" does NOT turn off getting notifications from images-g**g*e.com. We're SUPER excited about this release. All the best, Greg Rostami |

Thanks for that Greg - does that mean that if you upgrade then all your aliases will fail to work?

Here’s a routine of mine showing how Inject can be used with iThump - it’s a live performance so sorry about the distractions but the young lady’s reactions are priceless! Should have kept the video running a little longer LOL!!!

I need to know as I’ve got lots of QR codes made up on my business cards with unique addresses (with aliases) which I give to my specs so they get a permanent image as a memento. Just need to know as I don’t want to loose all the work!

As I understand, if I don’t change my user ID, the aliases will still work but I won’t be able to edit them or make new ones…. BUT, if I then change my user ID, then the aliases will stop working - is this correct please Greg?

Sean, Your credit card effect is my favorite Inject effect. Highly recommended! I love that it can be performed for 1 or 1,000.
