I bought a huge collection of magic from a retired Magician yesterday.
He's originally from South Africa and comes from a family of magicians, so there were quite a few cool things from the 50s, 60s and 70s in the boxes. There's a lot of Japanese stuff. Some marked Tenyo, some with just a rabbit logo, and some from Tokyo magic co Ltd. Or something along those lines. Anyway, one of the coolest things is a little Lota Bowl with a Tenyo stamp on the bottom. I've looked it up and it seems to be t-79. Problem is, someone in the last 40 years decided to give it a paint job. Seems to be cheap kids craft paint on it to make it look less plastic. I'm wondering if I should sell it as is, or try to take the paint off first? I wouldn't want to damage it. Any suggestions? |

That sounds like Super Vase a La India
Does it come with the original packaging? |

No original packaging. When I got up this morning I looked through the boxes and found it and upon closer inspection it's not painted, it seems the plastic has been damaged on it in some way.
In the box of junk there's also platters rubber banded together with a coin slide and a little bag inside. Like a nest of boxes but with a red and cream colored ashtrays, kind of. There's an elevator coins. A water suspension. An ultra tube. Sand card frame. Squeeze play. Silk serenade. And still in the packaging sandwich platter. I'm probably going to put them all together and sell them to someone as a lot. |

The effect with the 'ashtrays' is called Penetro Coin:

Yep, that's what I have. Though I don't have a coin inside and no large hank.
There might be a coin floating around inside the box somewhere. Unless it didn't come with one. |
