Watching De'vo's black deck demo makes me wanna get black decks the same way watching Spring Jam makes me wanna get Jerry's Nugget playing cards.
Bone has already sent his own Demo to E, and it will be up sooner or later. WOOT -Kev |

I've seen Bone's Demo as well. His "new" style of presentation is different from De`vo and Jerry.
De`vo and Jerry make flourishes look clear. Bone made it look really fast and flashy. More towards being confusing. But it's good. |

It doesn't make sense to make a black deck video on flourishes when De'vo already did that.lol And De'vo a darn fine job of it too. bone should quit trying to be like De'vo and be himself.lol His videos reek of De'vo and Jerry. Now he wants to make a black deck video like De'vo.LOL He's always trying to be like them. He is a great imitator of other people, and he does have great skill, but an artist he's not. Artists create, not imitate. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, many people like mechanics like the bucks, cap casino, and Keone. Guess I should add Bone to the same catagory as those guys. I'm sure he will be as successful as they have been.

"Imitation is the greatest form of flattery"
I think De'vo and Jerry must be VERY flattered by now The thing is this: many people try to imitate De'vo and Jerry's Style, but Bone does it best. That's all. But for now, I think you can already tell the difference... Bone's long fingernails, the hidden sound effects, and the sudden feeling of darkness whenever you watch one of his vids... hm Doesn't matter if you count Bone among the Bucks and Cap. They're all very skilled buggers, and Bone sure is helluva tough. -Kev |

I personally don't imitate or use De`vo nor his superhandz style much, although I'm a great fan of him.
I use my own style and look in the videos I make. I'm trying to be really original and creative by using other music and more. |

Hey Clarence, no offence... but on your video teaser on MVD, a few angles from which you filmed looked EXACTLY like the ones that De'vo used on his videos:
http://www.magicvideodepot.com/view.php?a=v&t=1899 Hm... just some food for thought. Back on topic. I don't think that any style is COMPLETELY the same... some people's positions ans background may be similar, but I'm sure the way in which the flourishes are done matters the most. You down wit dat? -Kev |

ALL the people to who I've shown Bone's video told me that he was smoother than De'vo himself.
This is not a judgment or anything, I'm just repeating what my friends said (and they have NO IDEA who De'vo or Bone are). > Artists create, not imitate I don't agree with you : an artist is someone who practises an art form and that's all. It's like music : there are people who write music, people who write lyrics, and people who perform the songs. You can perform the songs and still be an artist even if you didn't "create" them. |

If you watched my video teaser. I have a couple of things different from De`vo and superhandz style. I don't use black against black background. I don't imitate and wear what De`vo wears. I have my own dressing and design style. I don't use techno music. I try to apply the sound effects differently. Some of my title effects are also different. There are many little things that I did to try to have a different overall look and feel. Of course, I'm always trying to be more different. Clarence to Kev. |

But everyone has their oppinions. doesn't really matter though. De'vo is an artist and for this art is the true leader. There will always be people like Bone doing everything they can to be like him, no matter how good they are they can never be De'vo. That's just the way it will always be. De'vo is a legend, not a person. He inspires people like many of you flourishers here in this forum. From your videos, and style, he has been a big influence on many.
But that's no knock against Bone or any of the others, De'vo is just on a completely different level as a whole. It's not just about his skill, lots of people have that, it's about what he's done for the art, his creativity, and his sheer power as a person in the art of flourishes. Phantom |

Aight, Clarence... that was just my first impression when I watched the teaser a few months ago. The Birdy Fan looked EXACTLY like De'vo's, except for the background.
Well, enough about Bone. He's coming over to my house now, wants me to do him some favour... hm -Kev |

He has laid the foundation for many. No need to fight about it. It's almost a standard now. Even the bucks and other people are starting to use De'vo's style/teaching style in their DVDs! He's influenced most everyone in this artform. Seems like every cool thing he comes up with is taken by others, and why shouldn't it be? He is one creative powerhouse. De'vo is shaping the future of our art, can't wait to see what he does next.lol Phantom |

I stay pretty near to Bone so I meet up with him all the time. I'd say he respects De'vo and thus performs De'vo's moves similar to the way he does them.
However, saying Bone tries really hard to be like him is rather unfair. I've seen Bone do flourishes live and what you see on video are NOTHING compared to what he does in person. Bone definitely has his own style, but I'm sure some of it is inspired by De'vo. De'vo a fantastic flourisher and definitely hasn't shown much of what he can do over the internet. Based on the black deck demo, I feel that it wasn't a matter of who the better flourisher was, but which demo was more impressive and entertaining in that aspect. The irony is that a couple of De'vo's moves are in Bone's video, so much of the credit goes to De'vo in the end. IMO, both videos were very impressive, and the preferred one is personal opinion in the end. I say, just enjoy watching both videos. They're a blast. Huron

Bone's demo isn't even out in public yet, so I say just leave the discussion to the ones that are already released for the mainstream. It's just a matter of respect, aight?

That's true Huron, De'vo hasn't shown a 10th of what he can do on the net.lol I've seen the shows and was like "Where in the heck did he get all those moves from?" I even told him that I was shocked on some of those things and asked him why he didn't put them on the net. He said "I need to keep my identity, giving away my creations to me is like giving out a piece of my soul. I'm not trying to hand my soul to someone on a silver platter."lol De'vo has a ton of moves so giving out a few doesn't bother him at all. You all should see his skate park! Craziest thing I've ever seen! Also his upsidedown blindfolded work has got to be the best! Weapon and card manipulation! What you see on the net isn't even the tip of the iceburg. Again, De'vo is on a complete different level. Not just a guy that does flourishes on the internet.lol
