Hello everyone. The ultimate book test was an offline application and with an OCR sofware it was possible to add his own content.
Is ZBT is a true app or a web app ? Is ZBT will be available with an offline database in the future ? Is ZBT will have a tool to add our own books ? |

Adding a book to Zodiac takes a LOT of work, and is not something that could reasonably be done from the customer end. For theory11 to add a new book, it would take several weeks of work and testing by multiple people before we could release it. If you want to use a different book the 2nd Zodiac Method would work. Unrelated to your question, but still applicable for everyone, we just posted a quick Zodiac Q&A. It might answer some questions. - https://www.theory11.com/media/11764-zod......y-spidey // Lyle Borders VP of Operations theory11.com |

Q: is the clever tech peek device included?

Lyle, I was talking this specifically:
Quote:
On fool us, I went with a high tech impression device. When Penn was talking about Technology, he was referencing my peek. They spent VERY little time talking about what happens after the peek and I decided to not put up a fight. From Spidey's post it seems like you have to do your own peek... not really clear, if the technology mentioned is included.

I just got this today and I loved it, until I ran into a problem with some of the shortness of lines on some of the pages in the book that came with it I got Frankenstein. You ask a spec. to choose a line in the book from say 1-30..on page 76, if that page only happens to have 10 lines...your screwed trick won't work..so for me that is a deal breaker and it s something I would not use in the real world.

Now open to that page and just make sure there are 12 lines on the page you selected. There are Good. Now close the book and choose a smaller number, 1-10, this correlates to the word on that line." Scripting fixes these issues.... not a deal breaker at all. E.M |

That's a good idea or ask them to make sure it's a full page, like Copperfield did..

You could also just have them look at the page before or the page after if that issue ever comes up, as you know, the method was designed to be flexible and shift on the fly.

I think this is a great. The only thing I don't like is that it's not an offline app. For some people, this will pose a real problem, and it's just always better to not have to rely on an internet connection. One more potential wrench in the gears than necessary.
It's all in the reflexes.

I talked about the main effect, I'm not looking at the trick BB - as a book test at all.
As for the Zodiac - this is a Great product! So much effort and time it took authors is a real feat! I appreciate it. Yes, it does not suit all magicians and mentalists! There are a lot of book tests on sale! I show different depending on the mood. I will use the Zodiac as often as possible.

So I received the version with Frankenstein. Mine doesn't seem to work. Check out page 95 line 15 word 9. This word doesn't match the word in the app. And the word in the app doesn't match the word in the dictionary.
Maybe a fluke. Page 45 line 9 word 3 is little in the book. It should be 187:2:54 in the dictionary. My dictionary only has 26 words in the column. Both random tries. Both fails. Any help appreciated! |

Is anybody else having any problems obtaining the exact editions of the specified books? For example, the Persuasion edition is listed at $40 on Amazon. I can't find all of the books online on Amazon, with any assurance that they are correct edition for use with the effect.

Jordan, I just received this and tried those two examples you gave. I don't know what is going on with yours, but it worked perfectly for me to reveal the correct word. Maybe you received a different edition of the book.
On the other hand, there are a lot of words for which the indicated number for the word in the column in the dictionary is way too high, like well over 30. I don't understand how that can be. Seems like a major flaw in that part of the effect. For now, I intend to limit the reveal to page and column. Hopefully, this will get straightened out by Theory 11. But that seems like a lot of work, so it may take some time. John |

Jordan, it works correctly. You seem to be counting down by the defined words in the dictionary... not counting down the actual number of lines on the dictionary page. Hope that clears it up.

My mistake, also, regarding the word count. It is the lines, not the words. Thanks for pointing that out, Tune.
