This is not a Sand Frame reference:
Just remembered that there was a post for the Card Frame in the Secret Section, discussing T. Nelson Downs version explained in an online book. The way it is described it should not be very hard to make up and learn the handling. If I remember correctly, you can even use a store bought frame and with a little added pieces, it should work just fine.
