This week's podcast gives you two outstanding, information-packed conversations with two legendary magicians who have each shaped our art in their own way. While at the I.B.M/S.A.M. Combined Convention in Louisville, KY, I chatted with Jonathan Neal and David Bull.
I ran into Jonathan on the first day of th convention where we quickly picked up on our conversation where we left off a few years ago when we recorded a full length podcast when we we were performing together at the Magic Castle. He talks about his early career and dedication to continuing to create and not "rest on his laurels" but to always tweak and improve his act. He talks at length about working with audiences and developing an act. As he says, he is "selling style"...and it shows. On the last evening of the convention I was able to find a relatively quiet corner at the President's Farewell party and have a conversation with David Bull as we shared a glass of wine. Of course we spoke about "Le Grand David and His Spectacular Magic Company" as well as Cesareo Palaez. He gives us some advice passed down from Cesareo as well as how he got into the troupe and what he is doing today now that the show has closed. We also have a couple product reviews at the end of the podcast covering "A New Angle" book about tricks with a tapered (Stripper) deck, and "The Ox Bender" gimmick for bending coins. You can watch a couple videos of Neal n' Bull, read the blog, see some photos, listen online to the podcast and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......l-n-bull
