Hey everyone, I was looking at all these gadgets the other day (found some great little key ring pulls, but that's beside the point). I saw a flask+cigarette case (all in one) and the cards fit GREAT inside. The problem is that I could only get about 15, not the whole deck. I am now going on a crusade (adventure, journey, and whatnot) to find a cigarette case to fit my cards. They look like they would be perfect (even having a clip that could hold packets for packet tricks.) Anyone else use anything like this?

I have several leather card cases (I don't know what they were originally made for, but they weren't cigarettes)

My best source seems to be street vendors who sell wallets and purses outside office buildings. They have all sorts of import goodies that can be adapted for magic.

Leather card case: cardboard box
Wood and brass: Tenyo plastic
Adams plastic cups: Gold plated Sherwood cups
T-shirt and jeans: Three piece business suit
or in my case,
Peasant: Nobility

It all depends on the image you want to portray. If it makes you feel good about what you do, maybe that's reason enough.

I use a cigarette case to hold some gimmicks and some packet tricks, even money when I'm out performing. Good luck on your search and if you find any cases that fit whole decks let me know too.. Smile

I use the card case superior from penguinmagic. Its a clip that fits over the card case itself, so it protects the corners of your case from getting banged up and worn out.

It also doubles as a bullet proof pocket!

Get a card guard! one of the best things I ever purchased. It keeps my deck crisp.

I, for what it's worth, highly recommend Joe Porper's card case. Very nice, and it's black. A must.

I have been collecting cigarette cases for many years now ( I just wanted to collect something and my grandfather left me a boxfull of stuff. In the box was a cigarette case. that's how my collection got started.) I have used them to hold a variety of things. I have not however found one that will hold a full deck of cards.

If you are bent on using the prop for some reason you couuld use a deck of thin cards. I like the idea of my card case being a flask. Would fit my character and red nose(<-not a clown nose) well. Smile)

The idea of using a cigarette pack to house a deck of cards was published by Lee Asher (I believe in Sex Sells.) He suuggested using a bridge size deck to fit in the cigarette box.

I can get a poker size in. It's the depth not the width that's giving me trouble. I don't suppose they make 500-cigarette cases. (A case that would hold 500 cigarettes). Maybe I can find one for short cigars? Or maybe I could just buy a porper clip! (Anyone have a picture of this?)

And I thought that I was the only one who used cigarette cases for card cases.

I wanted something to carry with me, to hold my cards and coins, so I went to Wal-Mart one day and bought a cheap, but nice, leather cigarette case for carrying my cards in. I put my cards (in their original Bicycle card case) into a Card Guard (that I purchased from Penguin Magic) and insert this component into the cigarette pocket of the leather cigarette case. It works like a charm.

Now I can take my cards with me without them becoming all bent up and torn up. The leather cigarette case also has a zipper pocket that I use to carry coins. I might even be able to insert a TT into the lighter holder on the side of the leather cigarette case if I enlarge it some.

I carry this with me all the time when I'm on the road...

I use cig cases to hold cards... my ID cards (license, credit cards, cash, etc) and have been for a while now. No wallet for me. Thought about keeping a packet trick in one. I keep a 3.5 of Clubs in it tho, for the occasional bet-I-NEED-to-win. ;P

If you go to the Mafia store at http://www.bowlingshirt.com they have a nice cig case with a built in (butane) lighter that detaches. Smile It's the one I'm currently using.

BTW, you can find cig cases at Hot Topic, sometimes with a card on the front (AS, QH, etc).

For UK users. If you pop in to Boots Chemist and purchase their own brand 'rennie' style indigestion tablets, the box is perfect to house a poker deck.

Why?

I introduce this box whilst saying card tricks make me nauseous and then dump out a deck of cards! ho ho. laughs all round! (Ok then, sometimes!)
