You can't go wrong with either. These are two of the best produced-quality content/performance series ever. Pay your cable bill late and treat yourself!

Each one has something I use. Just find the effects that fit your style.

ETMCM all the way. I have both and the OTL set is awesome as well but go for ETMCM.

I would suggest volume 2 with either volume 4 or 5. They are both exelent. Volume 4 has Dunbury Aces, Your Signed Card, Ambitious Classic, Dr. Daley's Gambler vs. Magician. These are great effect, but five has the effects that le conte already mentioned. Take one of them; all three volumes are extremely good you can't really go wrong either way!
Have fun! Oh, Ammar is famous for his card on ceiling (just a tip!). |

Volume 2 is the one to get first, in my opinion.

I would have suggested ETMCM as a primer for Malone. While Ammar gives you good tricks to start, you learn a TON about presentation and other miscellaneous things (not to mention killer routines).

Can we be a little more scientific when giving advice on dvd's to purchase. for you guys that have been buying dvd's for a while it seems that you take a lot for granted. things like budget, and cost effectiveness.
I know that in time I will be like all of the rest with a well established dvd collection containing all of the most important works to be produced over the past 30 years, but until then I just want to get the magic that's hard hitting. bill Malone is great, one of the best dvd sets you can buy, believe me I get it. I am going to buy one but which one would you recomend to be the best. I have been reading through forum after forum just trying to get an answer to that one simple question. help... please? |

In regards to people saying Ammar isn't funny, I saw him at a lecture and thought he was just hilarious.

Ammar is better to begin, but I find it boring.
Malone's video is harder, but the performer is very entertaining. |

The Ammar Videos teaches you the fundamentals of card magic while Malone is much more advanced and doesn't go into great detail about the basics.

Mr Malone is probably the best card man alive today! or one of the best, His Scarne aces performance only which took him half his life to perfect! is the best trick I've seen! also when it comes to entertaining hes the best out there today nobody comes closer in that area..

I really like the Malone Tapes. his style might be some kind a "special", but I got used to it. There also are some really valuable hints about working in restaurants and dealling with customers on it.
The Ammar Tapes are great as well, I just can't ignore his stupid "Hähä hähä" after every joke. Those who know what I mean, know what I mean... Get both and you have enough cardtricks for a lifetime. Besides: Is this thing with the cards out of his (Malone) mouth explained somewhere? He did it several times on his tapes but didin't explained it.

Both sets should be in any card magician's collection. You might want to check out John Guastaferro's Brainstorm dvd as well.

I love them equally but for different reasons. Bill's DVD are more fast paced and fun and Michael's DVD's are filled with some of the best card magic you will ever see. If you can swing it, I would get both. I guarantee you won't be dissapointed with either.
