I came across this skillful example of both pickpocketing and "put-pocketing," by Bill Chaudet.
Timing and touch are everything. Although I found the entire clip a joy to watch, to specifically see this pickpocket/put-pocket sequence, tune in at the 6 min. 30 sec. mark, and watch right up til the finish.
