Yes call it "Patter" or the words we use but the presentation of magic is very important. I like to enter lace some amount of story into all of the stuff I do.
So I am starting out with this as a thought for metal bending.

Illusion is the first of all pleasures.
— Voltaire
Many of us have heard of the saying that “Life is an illusion.” It is casually declared by many, and with such certainty I might add, as if to imply an understanding of reality. But what does the saying really mean? Is everything really an illusion or is it wishful thinking on the part of humans? Or is it because as T.S. Eliot says, “Humankind cannot bear very much reality,” that we cling to our illusions even if they contradict the obvious?

It seems very easy jumping off point for a warping metal....

Do you bend the individual tines or just the fork as a whole. With my tine bending effect, I find it causes the audience to lose focus on what is happening to include a story during the process, because it becomes difficult to focus on a tine and engage the ears. I do not believe this would be the result from a fork bend in general.

I was thinking of including some tine bends.
I started scripting out some stuff... and the pyhscobabble portion is ok...
LIFE IS AN ILLUSION sort of stuff works... and you are right ... I tried to put in some more story elements... basically on how and where I learned tthis skill and it really does become too much to follow... even though it is not a complex story, by any means.

Don't fork around. This is serious.
No matter how many times you say the wrong thing, it will NEVER be right.

If I'm not responding to you? It's because you're a TROLL!
