No idea if is the same method -- but if so it is similar to what I have used as my go to OOTW trick -- all the steps are the same but you get a more impactful (IMHO) ending then just prediction. That said, his presentation is masterful and since I want to use some of his presentation will likely buy it just to be fair to the performer.

A similar effect fooled Penn & Teller a few weeks back.

Yes this is the same trick/video that is on the $15 DVD (which is part of a 3 DVD set for $40) which I if I am correct was shot in SD.
The fact that this trick can now be downloaded in HD makes me wonder if they enhanced the quality of the video.
Regardless, this is a great trick to get.

The one on the dvd set is done with a shuffled deck, yes can thoroughly be shuffled before the routine, there are two versions one is a magician fooler

Just for the record - since nobody here seems to be aware of it - so far as I know the first time this effect was published - I named it Blown Away - it was/is the cover item of the July, 1987 issue of Apocalypse.
And my impromptu handling of the idea is in JAW DROPPERS ONE titled Blown Further Away. Thought some would be interested in this information.

I don't think Tamariz was featured in the "Old Stars of Magic" series.

Probably a typo. It was "All Stars" of course (volume 3).
