Flying, that's what I would choose.
I would like to be able to melt the final coin through the table as you do with a shell in many "coins through table" routines. You know: "And now the final coin." no hand touches the table" "Watch the coin" and the coin melts trough. Waw! /Ark

No, it's not marketed.
Danny's really a genius when it comes to designing and fabricating devices to accomplish effects he conceives. He knew absolutely nothing about electronics and yet invented this vest that produces different sound effects when you apply pressure in different places. It would make Rube Goldberg proud. I have what I think is a great idea and a number of engineers told me that what I want to accomplish is impossible, so I called Danny and he instantly came up with two solutions! Okay, back on topic. If I could do anything, turning invisible would be near the top of my list. Even higher on the list, though, would be eliminating poverty, disease, etc. Sorry, I thought I was a beauty pageant contestant for a minute. Larry D. |

Hmmm, what do guys like Jung say about dreaming of flying and being invisible?
My dream is to finally find out and accomplish what "my thing" is in magic. And to be able to be openly inspired by others and openly inspire others.

Turning ordinary rocks into solid gold boulders, and then retiring off of the money I would make selling them. However, on a more realistic note, I'd actually like to come up with the facilities and money to perform a full-scale stage show, complete with levitation and large prop tricks.

If we stay close to reality I would like to be able to manipulate everything. Imagine not just be able to vanish a coin or a card but practically everything that you can carry in your hands, without lapping, with the simple aide of sleight of hands: a book, a telephone, a CD, a shoes, a case… I don’t know everything that your imagination let you…of course staying close to reality (using sleight of hand)
However if we want to dream way not be able to control the time. Why be able to be invisible if you can be in front of an audience, stop the time, move away, start the time again and viola you disappear in the mind of the spectator. I know whit this method you can’t fly but just imagine the possibilities for a while. Time is something that control ours life, and that makes use all equals, no matter who you are, if your rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, an hour is just an hour for everyone. You can’t buy time or sell time, well in odder words, time that you lose is time that you won’t find again. So if you can control time you posed an ability that nobody else has, you are unique. Bye,

I would like to be able to be invisible in a close up situation or have my head floating in the air (in a close up situation. I would also like to be able to take anything and everything out of my pockets like in cartoons. Or spring cards like a rainbow over my head like they do in cartoons.

The top would be a close up pad covered in speaker cloth by putting the speakers in the corners you could have the sounds follow the magic - great for matrix routines! the sound effects could be operated from switches on your body (like Sylvester the Jester's) it could even be a wireless connection. You could use it for music at beginning, end and between effects. Play little song themes during card stories - a sequence of notes every time you say "654 Club" for example. This is a great idea! |

Hey Scott,
doesn't Doug Malloy have a close up stand with speakers in it? you might want to check it out. I've really never thought about my dream effect, but like Chris Berry said, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to really perform real magic. Sometimes I just sit with my ring and rope and rub the rope and just hope that it will melt through... just once...what would that feel like...if I could really do it. Nathan |

My wife is probably a better magician then I am as she can make my money disappear with one wave of her mighty wand (her pen).
I hope she doesn't read this or she will probably make me disappear. Chris |

There was a scifi movie made back in the 50s or 60s where a man wished he had xray vision. He devised a chemical formula to apply to his eyes and gradually had different degrees of xray vision .. He kept increasing the dosage and soon he could see through peoples clothing and see them naked. This was great, but his xray vision got stronger and stronger until he was actually seeing through their skin clear down to the skeliton. This was a weird movie. Sometimes what we wish for may turn out to be very damaging. Im just rambling but this topic made me think of this movie.

This thread reminds me of one of my favorite Magician jokes.
A magician is strolling down the beach and discovers a bottle at the shoreline. He picks it up and uncorks the ancient flask. A genie appears and states, "Oh my gracious benefactor,... You have released my from my prison. You have my gratitude and in addition, I shall grant you a wish. Whatever your heart desires can be your's. Money, power, or anything else can be your's." The magician ponders and states that he would like to be able to do real Magic. The genie waves his hand and says, "It is done! You now can do real Magic! Your power is unlimited!" The magician looks around him and with his newly acquired powers asks, "Okay! Now tell me how to make this silk disappear without a thumb tip." Regards, Paul(If I could do real Magic, why would I want to make a silk disappear)Green |

Paul,
Good comment. Houdini, I remember a movie like that. There was an episode of Buffy, (girlfriend watches it all the time) where she was able to read minds of everyone around her. At first she thought it was cool, but then she couldn't turn it off, and started to go insane. Made me think I'd never want to read minds. Things can get pretty dirty in there. |
