Hmmm, I'm not sure. I have Bang On and am thinking of selling as I really like the aspect of being able to pull the card out back first with ID.

With ID I'm assuming the envelope can't be checked? I'm not sure that would fly with people I've performed for in the past (I can see the principle being used for the cards but this is fine). Can anyone with the effect verify if this is the case? Otherwise it is quite interesting as an effect. Currently I use Inferno which I've found to really engage audiences because the equivoque is entertaining and it is easy to clean up. I had been looking at OTM but think ID may seem stronger with an envelope in view all the time.
Thoughts? |

Kaan, to be honest, you should do your homework before putting out reviews. Why do you talk about the ID ? And work on your equivoque, there is no need not staying consistently... Jan

Jan, that was not a fair comment directed towards Kaan. Granted his performance was not great but he did use a consistent equivoque. A bit clumsily maybe but clear enough, I think. His criticism of not being able to have the envelope inspected is fair. After all the heat is on the envelope. Specs may reasonably ask "what else is in the envelope?" Still, I think if you quickly put the envelope back in the wallet inquiries might be avoided.
Kaan, keep up the good work. |

I have Bang on, On the Mark and ID. My favourite still is Bang on. My presentation is to send the thought of a card I am thinking of, to the spectator step by step of first the colour, suit and then value, making him the "star" and mindreader which is always a good option imho. Concerning the issue of pulling the card with the back out first, when I let the card fall out ( which is so great with Bang on and just not possible with the other two, besides the fact that I can send them any card ) I let it fall in such a way that my hand covers the front of the card first, and voila I can then increase the tension by slowly revealing the card I am holding. In this kind of presentation the issue of not having the envelope / wallet out from the start is not an issue for me as the whole focus is on the thought transportation and not on the spectator naming any card and me revealing it, and the fact I can send any card far outweighs the disadvantage of not having the wallet out from the beginning, as as clean the selection process may be with the other two, it still is and feels like a selection for the spectator imho.

Never quite sure about these Invisible type tricks that ask blacks or reds... spots or Pics... But my gripe is the same as others on here. The Envelope. Heat will be on it, having just performed what the spectator thinks is impossible, they will be curious as to whether other cards are in the envelope. Someone mentioned putting it back in the wallet.. I find doing that screams volumes that there's more to it, I mean, who keeps envelopes? Most of us rip open an envelope and discard it. Would be nice if as least we get an identical regular envelope that can be swapped out at the end.
My usual way of the switch is, perform trick, go to put envelope and card casually back in wallet, then immediately open again and pull out the clean envelope whilst you hastily say something along the lines of... "Ooh I tell you what, while we have this envelope lets try something else, I'll use it to hold this dollar ..blah blah blah...". That way the envelope will be clean after your follow on trick. Just my thoughts! |

Can someone confirm whether this uses a gimmicked wallet or not or if it is just the right size for the envelope.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The wallet is not gimmicked. But there are too much disadvantages (inconsistencies) to use this over other routines of the same type. I also found the visual aspect of the display of the enveloppe, not as clear as I had expected. This is one of the trick, which have not left my drawer since quite a while... Personally I would not buy it again.

If the wallet is normal then could you put the envelopes into a wallet you already have?

I guess you could find a wallet which allow to manage the outs the same way, but I would not bother. If you like the effect as shown in the full demo, the wallet will do the job.
I think the way the wallet has been made could have been a little different to allow the visual display of the envelope until the revelation (or at least to flash it before you take away the envelope). |

I ordered this and I think it is very clever but the wallet is too big for my taste.

I own one of Steve Cook's original prototype wallet and have updated it by adding the tyvek envelope and have enjoyed using this day in and day out with great success for many years.
I also own and have used 'Bang On' but ID does have the edge, with the rationale, flow and advantage of showing both sides of the card, is very consistent and it all takes up less pocket space. In my opinion it is the best of this type of routine by far. Paul McCaig.

I agree that the whole routine is very clever and well thought out but I wish the wallet was a smaller size so it could be used as an everyday wallet. Does anyone know if the zed wallet would accommodate this envelope size?
