Hello All,
I have been thinking about getting one of these mental prediction watches and I am aware of the Collector's Workshop "Perfect Time." I recently became aware of another company called the Magician's Cottage which makes the "Blown Away" watch. I like the look of this watch better than Perfect Time but I am not familiar with this company. I just happened to see their ad in Genii. I did call and spoke with Fred Hager who makes the watches and is the owner of the company. He spent a lot of time going over the various options and workings of the device with me and answered all of my questions which I appreciated. It certainly seems like he stands behind the product but again I don't know him or his reputation. If anyone is familiar or owns one of these and can give their thoughts on it that would be quite helpful! Thank You, Glenn |

Well,
I've never heard of Magicians Cottage, but Collectors/Viking watches I own and use. Not to mention, they've been making and selling the "Perfect Time" for over 30 years or so.... You may have to take a chance and see, since there a no reviews for any of his products. Either case, if you do decide to get a watch, I make a remote control that'll work with both. This will allow you to be 10-15 feet away and have the watch match the spectators prediction, neither of the watch makers offer this........ Jeff |

I have a Blown Away wristwatch bought from Fred Hager at least 10 years ago. It works perfectly, quite rugged. Don't know about current models.

They've been around that long? It's always exciting to find out about makers I didn't know existed...I am interested in working with some of their watches.

Why do you need to carry a special watch with you when there are so many watch effects that don't require the use of a gimmicked one?

This is Fred Hager, Owner of Magician's Cottage, LLC. Our Blown Away timepiece has been reviewed fairly recently in the the Linking Ring, November 2017 issue. Fred Rosenbaum, reviewer, gave it a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating. While he reviewed out pocket watch, we also market prediction Wristwatches. Our products have been purchased by one of the Broadway Ellusionists, as well as two finalists on America's Got Talent TV show. Hopefully, this information will add a bit of clarify to my
"unknown" status noted in an earlier post. |

Fred's products are top-notch and his service/suggestions superb. His watches are one of the best bargains in magic. The fact that he's a really nice guy who bends over backwards to answer questions and provide advice is great value added.

Many years ago, I purchased a Perfect Time wristwatch. I got rid of it, not because it didn't work beautifully, but because I am a watch collector and people who know me expect me to wear a really nice watch. Perfect Time is an average wristwatch. And the style is old fashioned. I recently bought a Blown Away pocket watch from Fred Hager after having a very pleasant, 20-minute phone conversation with this delightful perfect stranger. He is very exuberant about his product - and he should be! It's a beautiful prop and I love using it. TIP: buy a couple of gimmicked dollar bills from him. Yes, you can gimmick your own but if your DIY abilities are like mine, buying a couple is a no-brainer!

Heads up! Hope Fred doesn't mind me plugging his latest sale but it's a GOOD one...his products look to be great quality at very reasonable prices.

I have always had great products, price, and customer service from Fred Hager and the Magician's Cottage! He is one of the best out there if you are into watch effects! Just my 2 cents!
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary; for those who do not believe, no explanation will suffice.
