Hi, I am a hobbyist interested more in the art, performance and presentation of magic than just learning effects. I was wondering if anyone could recommend online sellers of out of print magic books besides Amazon. I understand some of them might be pricey, but I would like to see what is available. I am thinking of books like John Carney - Carneycopia or The Book of Secrets, Derren Brown - Absolute Magic, and Tommy Wonder - the Books of Wonder. Thanks for any help. Mark

For those books specifically, your best bet might be eBay (you can create an alert). They come up fairly often, it's mostly about how much you're willing to pay (I've seen them pop-up in some FB groups and here at the Café at reasonable prices every once in a while, but that's less frequent). You might want to start with the Books of Wonder, those shouldn't be that hard to find or as pricey.
Here at the Café you'll unlock a section where you can post books you're looking for, and see what others are selling, when you hit 50 posts. For other used and out of print books, you can check out H&R magic, they have a used books section: https://www.magicbookshop.com/b/used-books Also Hocus-Pocus has a used book section: http://www.hocus-pocus.com/ Hope that helps! |

Pepeq, currently, most of Derren Brown's and Tommy Wonder books are crazy expensive.
Wait for pricing to shift back to normal. It is something I notice about magic books on Ebay. That the asking price shift way up, and then back to normal. |
