I recently purchased a book collection and one of the books by Jean Hugard had the following autographs in the front. I only know of the 3 I commented on. The 2 with the ? next to them, I am not sure of the spelling. Anyone heard of the others?
Would appreciate any help in identifying who they are. 1 - Percy Abbott - Owner Abbott’s Magic 2 - Wade Drake 3 - Recil Bordner - Partner in Abbott’s Magic 4 - Fred Merrill 5 - Ray Fillmore 6 - Warren Webb Jr. 7 - Cary Brandybery 8 - Hill Cluten ? 9 - Clyde Forrest 10 - Jesse D. Thornton 11 - Truman ? 12 - Donald L. Bubb 13 - Winston H. Freer 14 - Paul E. Goss 15 - Gladys Abbott - 2nd wife of Percy Abbott 16 - Audrey M. Eggstaff

If you can send me a scan, I can look at them and see if I can make any out. Send to hugmagic@raex.com.
I started with a friend's collection to make a ledger for the playing cards signed as they are signed. It is absolutely impossible to decipher some of these signatures after 80 years. Richard

Wade Drake was office manager at Abbott's for years. He lived in the brick house just west of the dam.
Fred Merrill, retired juggler, worked at Abbott's Jesse Thornton, old, retired vaudeville magician. He did an act with clocks. Check out clock tricks in early Abbott catalogs. Winston H. Freer, The "Wizard of Ahs" (I think) Did some very off beat magic. He wrote a booklet, in the '30s. Some clever, off beat tricks, and good advice. Gladys Abbott, second wife of Percy. I'll PM you with info of his 1st wife. I don't recognize the other names.

Rennie,
Yes, if you take a photo with your phone. You should be able to send to your computer and then to me. My cell phone and very basic. I am not sure it even gets photo. Another trick I have down is to manipulate the the photos once I have them in the computer.

I have done no good on my end but I will try to keep looking. Everyone I knew had already been identified.
