On Tuesday morning I'm getting a brand-spankin' new Six Million Dollar Man right knee (to complement the new left knee I got two years ago).
Same hospital, same surgeon (Joseph Mayo: one of those Mayos), and, with luck, I can go home that evening. Here's hoping. |

Good luck Bill.
How's the left one doing after two years?

I've got my fingers crossed for you, and I can cross all my fingers. I have my toes crossed for you too! On top of that I just whistled the theme to the Six Million Dollar Man.
I hope it all goes smoothly and turns out well! Good luck my friend.

Well, the surgery started at 8:00 this morning, and at 6:30 this evening I was back home, doing quite well.

I'm fortunate to have two cats - Carlton and Mingus - who are only too eager to aid in my recovery. When I'm sitting down, they'll jump in my lap, sometimes using my leg as a stepping stone. When I'm lying down, they'll jump on the bed and strop my leg or my arm or my head, or head-butt me in the ribs. Or knead me almost anywhere with their claws. (Thank God I clipped them just before the surgery!)
Apparently it's the latest trend in physical therapy. |
