I had reallist awhile ago, but I dumped it because it was unreliable and even though you use the participant's phone, to me, at least, it didn't seem very organic. It seemed forced. To me it seems normal that I would have the list on my phone, not on a web site. And considering how much these special internet sites go down, not needing the internet is a big deal for me.

A very nifty routine was suggested by Daniel Zürn over in the DFB Facebook group. With full credit to Daniel, this is what I've been doing and having a LOT of fun with it...

I pull out a card box (tuck case) that doesn't contain any cards but does contain a small mystery item that can be heard rattling around in the box. I mention that the mystery item in the box is my prediction and I place the box on the table. I then pull out my phone while mentioning that I have created a list in the Notes app on my phone that contains 50 different small, common, household items. I ask the spectator for any number between 1 & 50. When I launch the Notes app there is a note/list of "Small Objects". The list contains things like "poker chip", "penny", "quarter", etc. The spectator scrolls down to their number and it is... Beer Mug?!?! WTF?

After the requisite act of surprise, I open the card box and dump the prediction onto the palm of the spectator's hand. The prediction:

It generates a great laugh, every time! It's really fun to do and it takes pretty darn close to zero pocket space (I'm already carrying a deck of cards in a tuck case).

I just got the pro version. I’m confused. You only get eight items to create? Not 100? I only see 8 lines when I create a new list

Just had an update on my Android for DFB. Probably just tweaks but wandered if anything new has been added.

What do people recommend out of DFB or DFB X? I had DFB yonks ago on android. Liked it but now have an iPhone. Is DFBX worth the extra money? I bought Realist thinking it would be better but is so much more faffy than I remember DFB being.

If you're going to pay for it again anyway I would go for X. Its amazing. Realist never really did it for me either

I know I'm late to the party on this one but just got a new phone a Samsung s25 and want to get a good app. I've read a lot of the reviews over the years and a lot of people mentioning that it repeats icons. Can't you make the fake screen and make it up of any icons that you want so they do not repeat?

you can't but the icon thing is not ever going to be an issue.

I’ve used DFB since it was first released and I don’t recall ever hearing of the repeating icons and never even noticed it myself, so no, it will not be an issue. They are only seen VERY briefly and don’t even need to be seen at all. But you can get DFBX and have the option of creating your own custom icons among many other additional options.

Actually I cannot get dfbx because I own a Samsung s25

By the way, how simple is it to setup?

Well I took the plunge and downloaded it and within the hour I got my money back with a refund and uninstalled it. For some reason they're fake screens didn't look that real the apps were so big maybe one day I'll get an iPhone and I can get the dfbx.

So I only spent a few minutes playing with it, and the app too... and I may try it again. So, the icons are BIG...no one really sees them for too long or at all. I do have a question. Can the icons be moved around on each page? I remember seeing the search engine in the middle of the home screen and that's not where I would want it.
