I gather CBS screened a documentary last night and showed pictures taken by the "paparrazi"of Princess Diana dying in the Mercedes after the crash in Paris.
How crass is that ? Is this a sign of the media gone completely bonkers in the quest for ratings? Howard |

What worries me more are the types of people these photographers and magazines are catering to. What's with this lust for celebrity dirt? Why do these people care?
If there weren't people out there buying these rags, then the paparazzi wouldn't be pestering the famous. |

Seems strange to me that a big network like CBS will show a terrible scene like that and upset Family and Friends of Princess Diana, not to mention kids and other's watching tv. Yet all hell breaks loose when a celebrity shows a b**b on television.
I would rather have my daughter see a semi nude on television, than to watch someone suffer and die. I am afraid that the powers to be are confused when it comes to moral judgements. Iven

I am afraid that the powers to be are confused when it comes to moral judgements. I'm afraid morality left the airways the day they discovered the Nielsen's. Ever notice that instead of taking a minute to inform us of the top news stories, they spend that minute trying to entice us into tuning in at eleven. Usually with some stupid "you won't believe......" Fox is the worst, but the others are right behind them. I think a lot of people are getting pretty sick of all this and have stopped watching the magazine shows. I've noticed that 60 minutes used to be the top rated show, has slipped down. Here's hoping the rest of them slide too. |
