Out of necessity I created this. Perhaps there's no need for Yet Another Peek Device but regardless, here it is.
Some may like it, some may not. I like it. Paypal me $5.99 at john@lookwww.com The reason it's $5.99 is because I really want $4.99 but what I lose for you all using credit cards will at $5.99 bring it back to $4.99 It's very very (I used two verys) easy to make. If you have business cards it takes about....5 minutes. Oh, you need scissors to. There is no Sleepy Hollow in this though, if you know what I mean. Thanks PS: Please leave your nice comments here. If you want to leave bad comments then leave them at some other creators thread. I only allow good comments here. |

I personally loved this, John. Thanks for sharing this with us. I haven't made it up yet, but I thought it would work quite nicely.

I bought this a few weeks ago and love it.
Quite often things like this are disappointing and are sent to the dreaded "meh" folder. The "meh" folder serves two purposes. One is for reference as there may be a little something of interest to use out of it. Most often it is a reminder of all the money wasted to keep me from making impulse purchases because "it's only a few bucks", but those few bucks certainly add up. YAPD is absolutely safe from the "meh" folder. After reading it I immediately saw this as something I would use. Though I haven't really had a chance to use YAPD yet, I did throw one together and fiddle with it a bit since I had everything I needed. It is a keeper, definitely something I will use. I own a fair amount of peek wallets, etc. but I'll be using this over any peek devices I currently own in most cases. It looks completely normal and yes it is very, very easy to make. IMO YAPD is very much worth the small price John is asking for it. Most if not all peek devices I've bought just weren't for me and I end up not using them. While it's hard to improve on the simplicity and ease of use I may have a slight alteration in setup/handling once I get a chance to play with it some more. Time will tell if it's best left as is, which is probably the case. YAPD is one of those forehead smacking, "I can't believe I didn't think of this" items that I think most will find useful. For me, it will be my go-to for peeking. I think it's great. I'm very happy with my purchase and glad John made it available. George |

Mr Cesta said he didn’t want any ‘bad comments’
Well I’m not sure if a bad review counts as a bad comment… Because I’m sorry to say that I have to leave a bad review for YAPD Business Peek Before I continue, I should explain that what I mean by ‘a bad review’ for YAPD I mean it’s my review that is bad, and not the PDF You see I would find it hard to pass comment on YAPD itself, but I felt the need to write this review anyway… I bought this as John was offering one of his other PDFs for free [if you were quick off the mark]. I have had my eye on ‘Ultimate Positive Negative!’ for a while – in fact I have only held off as I suspected there might be a re-release in the offing. I got that from John’s Magic Café Signature ‘The ULTIMATE Routine Series: rebirth soon!’ BTW John what is it with all the exclamation marks? I hate exclamation marks! So I got both PDFs YAPD – REVIEW: I may or may not use YAPD. Nothing down to the quality of the PDF/idea – I’m just not exploring this area at the moment. Yeah I told you my review was a bad. How is that going to help anyone? I haven’t worked it – so I can’t give any feedback. Sorry. I have read it. I would say the font and type face/photos are more ‘modern’ than John’s older PDFs. There are a lot of photos. But do either of those things matter? I’m sure if you want a peek it will be something of interest/use. Now onto, ULTIMATE POSITIVE NEGATIVE – REVIEW: Wow. I hoped it would be good. I have various other projects like 50/50, etc… which I never felt like working. I was half expecting this to fall into that category. For me this doesn’t. Before I had finished it – I knew it was something I wanted to work. I really liked it on reading it, and like it more now I have worked it. I put it straight into my set this weekend. I used it in 5 stage shows. I honestly think it should be viewed ideally as a 1 on 1 piece. But still it’s a very good stage/parlour piece. Part of the reason I put it in – was I wanted to work on the E……. part of the routine. As it’s a super simple version of that. And a good way to get over my fear [of crowds] being called out on E…… Moving on.... Many creators say – ‘don’t worry the audience never ask to see x’ Those are cheap words that can prop up/hide weaknesses in how you end up [dirty] and where the heat is. In my limited experience of five shows – it really is not an issue. It wasn’t just cheap words. Strangely I put a piece in directly after to stop that happening… not only did they never even think about the ‘something’ [as 100% of the focus is on something/someone else] – the routine I put in to cover that off, the first audience asked to see the ‘dirty’ deck at the end [that effect is nothing to do with Positive Negative] – but note the creator of that one [Nyman] said audiences never ask to check… Grr. He’s probably correct as it was new and I probably was at fault. Back to Positive Negative.... The reactions were very strong. In fact I didn’t anticipate that – as I like to keep a pace to my shows – that in two of them I definitely moved on too fast. My only mistake was who I chose for one of the shows. I had a great crowd and three ‘angry’ looking chaps. I thought I would try and bring them into the show. Argh. It really messed up the reveal – as it went perfectly, but on purpose he read out the wrong answer. Killed the response… But I stood my ground and said, ‘so you choose x and it was y, and the prediction said you would choose x and it was z?’ – I went to take the paper off him [as I knew then I would get my payoff] – but he just quickly said, ‘no you were right it does say z’… still it killed the reaction somewhat. So that was a lesson learnt. If you want to win over a faction of the audience – don’t use a piece where they are pivotal to the reveal. Hmm. Anyway, not only do I think this is a great routine, but at the price it’s a steal. Now the caveat – my recommendation for this is based on what my style and likes are. If you don’t like mentalism, rather not do quick effects, don’t want to have to make a prop for each performance*, or are lethally allergic to the sticky stuff on envelopes – this is not for you. * It will cost you less than 2 small envelopes a show and less than a minute to prepare – if you do multiple ones at a time, you could do enough for well over 100 performances in an hour Ok, I was late to the Positive Negative party – though in real life usually I never even get an invite. I think ‘Ultimate Positive Negative!’ Is very good YAPD I read the PDF – well it has nice photos… Yeah I told you as a review of YAPD this was bad!!!!!!! |

Thank you kind sir. I appreciate your voluminous words. Glad you liked ultimate.
YAPD, as well as my other stuff, is not about fancy pdfs with graphic covers and matching fonts I don't have time for that kind of stuff. I just thought this peek was good enough to offer. Keep up the good work and fool the heck out of them. I performed ultimate a few weeks ago and my friend who didn't rip the envelope and read the result Mumbled "Yea well he's got other stuff in the envelope." I pushed it to him he looked and took his words back. Never did he say let's see the other piece. It's too small. J |

Quick one:
It is nice that you leave the envelope and prediction with them - nice they can take it home, and makes it more mind boggling - as 'the magician had to have influenced my decsion as it wasn't a trick envelope'... etc |
