I never bought the Prisma lights so I cant compare them to the ones I just bought ( Ultra Bright ) But these things are bright. Also the T.T. looks more real than the Dlites I own.

Alright I received my super bright Rocco. Here is my quick comparison of RSB with the Dlite ultra bright WHITE.
First for the brightness I would say about the same (if I get a chance I may post a pick). I say about because the colors are a bit different. To explain that first I have to describe the gimmicks difference without breaking rules I hope. Dlite gimmick is shorter and fatter compared to RSB. Dlite is shorter by about a quarter inch and fatter as it fits on looser me. Also the Dlite is thicker. The Dlite gimmick (not the light) is more yellowish then the RSB thus making the light more yellowish then pure white. The RSB is pinkish and due too it being thinner when lit it is a whiter white then the Dlite not yellowish like the dlite. But for me the pinkish hue of the gimmick itself doesn't match my skin tone as well. Does that make sense? The rocco is thinner and pinkish so it's white light is more white the Dlite. The size of the Rocco being longer it goes more over my knuckle (for good or bad) BUT at the tip it is harder to hide the gimmick when lighting it because it is also longer and smaller at the tip then the Dlite which makes it come to a strange point that protrudes past the fingers more. It is small and long at the top you might have to have to have a thumb that gets pointy at the end. This also makes the light have a visible ring at the top caused by this and it also being thinner. Also the Rocco is a bit harder to activate which for me since I am used to the Dlite throws off my timing and handling. I like the whiter light but not the strange size, shape and thinness but the thinness makes it whiter though but also makes you see more of the gimmick. It is harder to depress soo. I don't know I will play with it some more but I like the way the Dlite is built and activated but I like the whiter white of the Rocco unless in closer situations. Brightness about the same soo color etc plays a factor. Sorry I'm all over the place but just got it and promised I would post when I did so have fun trying to make sense of it all. LOL Happy to answer questions though. (or try to LOL. Edit: Oh the T nail is more realistic and the edge stands out a bit when lit. Not sure I like that or not yet. Also the Rocco's are cheaper price wise. So you have that as a plus too. A pair for about $12 IMO is worth it for sure.If the price was higher I don't know. |

Thank You So Much for that input. It is great to finally get some more info on these.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Sounds like the improvements are not really improvements at all, then. What was he thinking???
So if I go for this, I think I'll purchase the original.

I bought 6 of these. 2 didn't work straight out of the box, and one died after 20 minutes of use (not straight on for 20 minutes just messing with it) Luckily penguin magic is replacing them for me. So the lights for me were 50/50. I would hate to use in performance and it to just stop working like the one I used for a little while. They are more realistic and brighter than the originals, but I never had a problem with the originals. If these would work reliably I think they are superior to the originals and hopefully my bad experience with them is an isolated experience.

I have both. I agree with most of what BifKahuna has already said. Mine are red, and I find the brightness between the two different brands not much different, but definitely brighter than their originals. I also find the D'lite brand to be easier to use. I prefer the D'Lite Ultra Brites because they just seem to be better quality. They fit nice, easy to ditch, and the battery will be more easy to replace when the time comes.
NOTE: Rocco did not create either brands. He just endorsed them. He no longer endorses D'lite Brand for his reasons.

So I'm pretty sure that the ones I have are knock offs, as mine are rechargeable and are so bright, I had to shade the TT to defuse them slightly. Got them on eBay from a European seller, more than a year ago but they have since closed shop. I do still see them from China sellers but I don't buy anything from China, as I'm almost sure it's always a knock off.
No matter how many times you say the wrong thing, it will NEVER be right.

I bought a set of dlites over 20 years ago and they are still working good. I'm sticking with the dlites.
