Hello everybody !
Here it is : a friend and I will hit the street. He plays the guitare and I perform magic, in the same show. My question is : where to begin ? We don't want to go on a busy spot, we'd like to begin slow, but not to slow... Any idea of an area we can do our first show ? Oh. We are in Paris and can travel near by. He has got an amp and I've got a table. best, Youri. |

That would be a good way to gather a crowd, wouldn't it ?
But that's the point. We don't an area with other performers, as Gazo said in his lecture, we want to stay in the corner for a while. But, where are we going to find a good corner ? |

Let me get this straight.
You're Youri from Paris and can't figure out where to play.,....? Paris, Ontario? Paris, France?,... THAT would be the funniest Post of the year! Back to Paris, Ontario. Frank Caputo works at the Paris Grand Country Club. He's an old Street Performer himself,.. HE could help you out. Good luck. ,...you sound as though you need it. Gallagher Hayes |

Hello Gallagher (what a great name, by the way).
I guess it is the funniest post of the year then, cause I'm from Paris, France. I know where buskers are. We just don't want to start there. It doesn't feel right. It's a bit scarry to, if I'm honnest. We'd like to start small, learn how to interact with people in this kind of show. How to position ourselves within the street, to find our feet. I guess we just have to go out and try somewhere. You can't answer this question : "oh. It's your first time, just go there, it would be perfect for you." Where did you set up for your first time ? And how it went ? Thanks for your answers guys ! |

Find a place where people are looking for something to watch or do if you want them to stop and engage with you. Smile! And then smile some more and act like you are having fun if you want people to be drawn to you.

Hi Youri, I say go to place that's busy or else you're wasting your time.
Don't worry about stopping anyone of making money. Just play at your table like you would at home. If anyone asks to see something, show them something. You have to be around people to work through the nerves and learn anything. I understand what you're saying, though. You don't want to go setup on an established pitch and basically be screwing another performer out of a working space that you're not making money from. If your friend is playing an instrument, perhaps just sit on a park bench together until you get used to people. |

Hi, and thanks : I really appreciate it.
So... We've found somewhere. It will be a park not to far away. People, families. We'll give it a try next saturday. See how it goes. Hope it won( rain. I'm excited. |
