"Twinkey" by J.K Hartman, from AFTER CRAFT, also published, with permission, by Aldo Colombini in his book, IMPROMPTU CARD MAGIC, and in his DVD IMPROMPTU CARD MAGIC Volume 1.

The "key" is to not make it obvious that you're using a key. In this case, you use 2 of them! (Twin keys.)

On p. 1 or so, Landmark mentioned Do as I Do. Alan Kronzek as a really nice framing in his book Magic of Alkazar (and in a more recent book published by Vanishing Magic). He calls it The Mirror. The spectataor pretends to be the magician's reflection in an invisible mirror. At the end, uncannily, the mirror accurately reflects the magician's selection.

Actually I think the first Kronzek I mentioned in the previous post is called The Secrets of Alkazar.

So I looked up Braude's Mental Card Trick and that is not just deceptive, it's devilishly clever, bordering on plain evil. I just did it twice to see if it worked and I don't know how but boy does it. I can't wait to try that out on someone. I even tried it with less than a full deck and still, bingo! That is a nice impromptu bullet to have in the ammo belt.

Braude's Mental Card Trick from "Scarne on Card Tricks" uses it quite brilliantly.

Dead Reckoning from Dear Mr Fantasy ... but not in the way you'd think. It uses a couple of different ideas that put together creates an effect that is quite genius.

Thanks for this post. Looked up "Braude's Mental Card Trick" and performed it for the Mrs. It passed the test, she was suitably impressed!

Yeah, it's very deceptive. No one thinks past the top or bottom if you know what I mean. I'd never thought of it before I read that trick.

FYI, the book is public domain, happy hunting...

The same effect can be found in the book Card College Light with the name "The Fingerprint" and in the book The Royal Road To Card Magic with the name "The 26th Card"....only the presentation and handling changes but the basic principle is the same.

Best regards
