What does this look like? I have it in a black box with no locking mechanism. Is this normal or not? Can anyone help?

The Sterling “Immaculate Ring Flight” was a small leather ring case/wallet that closed with a zipper going around three sides. It had hooks for say, six or so keys, including a hook that the Ring was ultimately found therein. The “necessary” was riveted into the case and had a locking mechanism.

If the version that you are holding does not have these features then it is probably not an Immaculate Ring Flight.
The artist formally known as Mumblepeas!

Those Sterling Ring Flights are very well made.
I have had mine for about 18 years and it's still going strong.
