FWIW... I just purchased and used the Harry Robson stick that Poof mentions and it is great! SO much better than the brush-on roughing liquid I purchased before!

Thanks Dapper! I'll probably stick with the cheaper option right now tho. 😂. See what I did there? My can of roughing spray (probably testors) is leaving a yellowish tint on my cards. Probably has nuthing to do with it being every bit of 15 years old. hahaa!

Hi DB,
I haven't tried this myself, but somewhere I read a suggestion that instead you could scrawl on the card with a white crayon instead of using spray. The claim was that the crayon wouldn't show up. I liked the idea because crayons are presumably nontoxic. Has anyone tried this? Bob |

Roughing stick sounds like a good idea -- especially because you're not going to inhale any spray.

I have heard roughing sticks do not last as long on a deck. Roughing fluid lasts a long time.
I just have to try some of the tips here with roughing fluid. The decks have it wrong. The cards are too hard to separate. It is not just the touch, etc. So thanks for the tips! |

I have used the stick for one particular effect and I only rough one card, works great although after about 10 performances, need to refresh it. And in the effect Monkey in the Middle, there is no need to seperate the cards until you reset it. Much easier to work with than roughing fluid also!
