Can anyone speak to the quality of these cards?:

Standard GT effect, but if the cards are genuine (and not digitally printed from crappy, low-res scanned artwork), it might be worth picking up.

Thoughts?

I didn’t recognize the names of some of the casinos, but this seems to be an exact duplicate of an effect created br David Van Vranken, a friend of mine from Las Vegas. David gave the rights to Scotty York, who marketed it as Quintuplicate Coincidence. Unless something has changed, Denny Haney is the only authorized seller of the effect. Liam may have made arrangements to sell it that I’m not aware of,, he seems like a stand up guy. I’ll wait to see the quality of the cards as well. It’s one of my favorite effects.

If I recall correctly, that effect (Quintuplicate Coincidence) had the rest of the cards as the same value as the mates, but I could be wrong. There have been other versions similar (The Kick if I recall used a blank face ending for the kicker), Stolen Cards by Lennart Green has many similarities, as did Cancelled Casino Kaleidoscope from Daryl. Either way, it's a fantastic effect, and if there's an issue with production rights, I'm sure Denny & Liam can work it out if they haven't already.

Yeah, I’m not accusing Liam, in fact Im considering buying his version as a back up. I was just putting out what I remembered about the effect. I’d like to update my set with some of the newer casinos, but I guess the patter could be built around casinos that no longer around.

They look exactly like the cards I see in the checkout line at "Dollar Tree". They are legit bee stock cards that were used in a real casino then "canceled". Some have a hole drilled thru the center, many have the corners cut sharply (not rounded) but they are "destroyed" to the point you couldn't slip one in at a table to "cheat". As for the effect - there are several, almost exactly like this, already out there for less.

Yes! You can get a used casino deck at the dollar tree for $1. I had never bought one till yesterday. Bought 10 decks (Big spender !) in fact -- most were Aristocrats, two Grand Pip, one GEMACO and one Bee. For 52 bucks plus tax you can make 52 of the Casino Kick decks for the price of two of the decks from BBM. The patter for the Casino card version is excellent in my opinion. I may buy another 42 decks yet, lol !

I'm a sucker for special GT decks -- I have the "rainbow deck" and the "Botania deck" also -- in the latter case my patter is about my late great aunt who bequeathed this bridge deck to me... etc. etc.

They claim this:

This deck is made entirely from REAL casino cards from Las Vegas!

I would believe it. I've bought plenty of stuff from them.

Yes. BBM is a great. The photo of the deck on their website is identical to what I can get at Dollar Tree.

The Casino Kick is pretty much the same as Daryl's Cancelled Casino Kaleidoscope Cards.
Daryl's deck sold for $15.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X7HzpokdsY

David Van Vranken's deck, marketed by Scotty York as "Quintuplicate Coincidence"
was the first to use casino cards. The deck had about 20 different casinos.
For the ending, the non-paired cards were shown to be a mix of Aces through Kings in the opposite color,
instead of being all the same, as Daryl's deck and Casino Kick are.

Casino Kick uses two different pairs, where some of the others used the same pairs, all black aces for example.

Hi guys and girls!

Just popping on here to clarify - I don't claim any originality on The Casino Deck, the Rainbow Deck or any other version - it's a dealer standard that has been marketed by a ton of different dealers over the last couple of decades.. I buy them in from a wholesaler, and then resell them on Kaymar Magic (and supply BBM) because I love the trick so much! I did change the name slightly (They are packaged and sold as 'Rainbow Decks' which covers a multitude of effects and props) so I renamed them and tidied up the instructions.

There's no credits in the original instructions, but my research has uncovered a collection of names and lineage, so I will update the instructions my end to include the myriad of sources and variations.

Hope that clears everything up, but if anyone has any other questions, please contact me Smile

All the best,

Liam.

Casino Kicker uses many casinos that are the same!

There are are only 24 different casino cards. There are 11 casinos that have duplicate cards.

Hi itsmagic,

All the decks have some duplicates, but they are usually different colour backs. I have no idea if there are actually 52 Casinos that currently sell the cards after play, so that might explain any duplicates. I've never had anyone notice, although maybe the presentation covers that (I say that each card represents a time I went into a casino and I lost, where as the face up cards are the lucky ones). Combined with the fact that most of the Casinos use the same back design style and colours (often with just the logo changing), it's not something I've noticed, nor the spectators.

However, if it causes you a problem, drop me a line and I'll check the other decks I have from the supplier?

Much better to drop me an email if I can help with anything - I check my emails more regularly than the Café, so I can respond faster.

Thanks,

Liam.

If you mean Eric Ross's Motley Deck, it is very similar in effect but no Casino cards are used in it.
