It seems available on Theory 11 but it says Pre-order on Penguin?
I've not really scene much of this. I must have missed it the first time around. After reading through the threads on this and watching it performed, I'm definitely going to get this, particularly because I already have the matchbooks. I bought 5 boxes of matchbooks for Incinerate by Brent Braun . I never really worked up Incinerate because I was having trouble working it into some sort of routine. With Lit now available again, Incinerate seems like the perfect beginning to Lit. I'm kinda surprised no one seems to have mentioned routining the two together before.

So glad this is re-released. Has been one of my go to effects for about ten years. I was down to my last two refills which were no longer available. What is nice is you get an entire deck of 52 instead of the ten or so previously and two additional gaffs for a matchbox presentation. Haven't had a chance to watch the new instructional video, but looking forward to learning about the signed version.
Great effect. Never fails to get incredible reactions. |

Is there a handling that does not require the first phase because I do not want to eat a lit match and fire would not work in my environments

I don't own the re-release, but I own the original. If I remember correctly, the basic routine provided does involve lighting a match. But again eating or lighting matches is not a requirement for the end effect. But for the end effect (selected card becoming the matchbook), you should involve the matchbook somehow so it's registered in the spectators mind that it's a matchbook full of matches. That's what makes the overall effect so strong. Personally, I use Nate Staniforth's match transpo (taught on scamschool) before moving to the card trick.
Haven't read through the entire thread in awhile, but you might get some ideas in the existing Lit thread http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......c=276968 |

I have read that whole thing and I will likely order if it has the same bonus effects

I chatted with Penguin and their customer service person said that the don't believe that Lit (2018) comes with the original bonus effects. He stated that he didn't know 100% but that he hadn't heard anything about them being included.
I emailed Theory 11 and will update if I hear back from them. Quote: On Jun 29, 2018, john G wrote:

The verdict is in, Theory 11 has confirmed that Lit(2018) does NOT come with the bonus effects of the first release. So NO Dan White's Floating Match on Hand or Andrew Gerard's Self Lighting Match Pack.

I had this way back as well, and need to get it again as I believe I ran out of matchbooks lol. I think Dollar Tree has plain white matchbooks as well but I forget I will have to check. I know Walmart has the Diamond logo on them which sucks. But I seen that they recommended this bulk supplier which has plain white matchbooks very cheap, $1.79 for a box of 50. But the ground shipping of $21.23 is a little ridiculous. Unless they are not in the USA. I thought $1.79 was a great deal, and very cheap. Almost too good to be true, which then I saw yes indeed it was. Could probably ship First Class for $5 or less, maybe under $7 Priority. Seems like the cost is being made up for in the high shipping which kills the deal. I know "ground shipping" is more expensive though and more suited for large items, so that is probably the reason.
I am sure eBay and Amazon has them cheaper. But I am gonna look around locally for them as well. https://www.webstaurantstore.com/bulk-ma......OOK.html I have been doing the appearing burnt match for almost 40 years already, and use a TT as I prefer that method over the mouth one. Some books even suggest to throw it on the floor which is not always a good idea if indoors for many reasons, and can be found or seen sooner or later unless you are very careful to hide and retrieve it.

Ah yes I was right, good ole eBay "Matchbooks Plain White 50 Pack by D.D. Bean & Sons" $5.99 shipped. 100 count $9.00 shipped. Much better. I did not check Dollar Tree yet though. I have tons of Diamond ones already too for other tricks.

Dollar Tree does not have matchbooks only boxes, and also "Diamond" brand as well. So looks like eBay it is for $5.99 shipped. Also I hope they get refills soon as if I did this in restaurants I would run out of card/books pretty quickly if I gave them away. So it will be nice to have them cheaper to buy since "the secret" was already bought once. Or I would have to make my own. But time wise I would rather buy them since there are 52 at a time.

The DD Bean matches are cheaper if you buy in small quantities. The plainwhitematchbookscom site will sell you 500 matchbooks for $36.50, which is a better deal, though if you want the best deal in bulk, I would try this link> https://www.amazon.com/1000-Book-Matches......052C6N02 That is 1000 matchbooks for $49.25.
I would not buy the DD Bean matches though, because I would use the matchbooks for Incinerate as well and for that trick the front and back need to both be white. That feature is not necessary for Lit, but it is recommended by the creators. Quote: On Jul 14, 2018, sirbrad wrote:

I finally received Lit (2018). A couple of notes. First, when they you get a deck of Lit gimmicks, they mean that literally, every card is different. I was thinking that the cards would be the same for some reason. The only downside I see to this is that if you prepare a gimmick (explained) to make the "freely choosen" card to disappear, the spectators keeping the matchbook/card could be a problem. I don't see this as a big deal, but something to note just the same.
Second, for some reason, Theory 11 has not made it possible to download the instructions. Maybe I missed something, but I looked several times and I could not find anyway to download them. While this is not a deal breaker for me, it is troubling. I paid for the instructions and I should be able keep and backup a physical copy. If a company is not going to allow instructions to be downloaded, that company should be upfront about it. For a trick like Lit, which is all about the gimmick, this isn't such a big deal as the mechanics of the Lit are simple enough. For other tricks, the lack of downloadable instructions might be a very big deal. Overall though, I am pleased with the gimmicks and the instructions and I look forward to performing this trick.
