Yeah that website said they cater mostly to businesses who buy in bulk that is why the shipping is so expensive for one box. But I don't need 1,000 books which would be excessive for me and take up a lot of room. 100 at a time is plenty as I can use who whole book mostly each time down to two matches. Also I thought the Matchbooks Plain White 50 Pack by D.D. Bean & Sons are both white front and back? In pics that I seen they look "plain white" as stated. And yeah I know you get 52 different cards which is good as if you do it at restaurants and others happen to see it from another table, they may remember and wonder why it always the same card. Did you order from Theory11 or Penguin? I like to order from Penguin as they have the instructions usually always in video and download.

I ordered it from Penguin. Some creators don't allow Penguin to offer the explanation videos on Penguins site. Theory 11 chose not to allow it. I followed the explanation link to Theory 11's site and watched (but did not download) the video there.

OK I see a password on the lid flap, but the streaming does not work with my older web browser that I use for my older PC. Any YouTube links? I hate this streaming garbage and this is the last thing that I buy that does not have a DVD. Penguin's videos work fine though. There should be a download link because I can download it then and view with my own VLC player.

What method is Dan using for the force? I'm not a big card guy and it looks Get Sharkey-ish to me but it appears to be bikes. Does anybody have a link to what he is using? Thanks in advance for any help.

It is explained in the download. If you see how he forces the card to Jimmy Fallon, it is fairly obvious the force that is involved.

Any ideas for a good way to actually vanish the selected card (rather than just sticking it back in the pack?? As the match vanishes visually, I'd like to do something similar with the card. I never really liked the Rub-a-dub vanish, but something similar would be good. I thought of putting it face up among four face down cards and using an Ascanio spread, but the four other cards would need some motivation...

The vanish is a prelude to the reveal which is the climax. Should the vanish be a big thing?

Then later they devour the selected card. Another possible idea is I thought of this effect when I first viewed the trailer for Snapped. A potential visible vanish, perhaps? http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S25831 |

I think I might have a good idea though. A little stickum applied to the back of the top card, then use the swing-cut force to force the bottom card. The deck is reassembled and then can be ribbon spread or spread between the hands to show the selected card is gone, and then it's in the matchbook. The video (which I rewatched today) actually supplies a sort of similar solution, but one that would require constructing a new gimmick each time the trick is performed. This way seems simpler. It only requires you to construct a new gimmick if you give out the "matchbook" at the end, but then so does your method. If one used the method on the download (the one used on Fallon), one could use a restickable option with that as well to make "constructing" a new gimmick similarly easy.

I was thinking of using repositionable glue that doesn't leave residue on the other card, so the setup could be used over and over. I think that giving out the matchbook is a key part of the experience, so I'd want to do that. Do you have a link to the Fallon performance? I'd love to see what you're talking about. |

Serious question, how long do you think it takes to make the gimmick on the download?
Not for nothing, I just made the gimmick with two random cards I had lying around and it took less than a minute. Quote: On Nov 5, 2018, thecromulent wrote:
