Hey,
I started looking into different memory systems and can already memorize a deck of cards pretty fast (below 3 minutes) I am looking for some effects that relay on real time memorization. Effects that memorizing something is part of the method, not the presentation (it can be part of the presentation too, but that is not necessary) It does not have to be with cards, anything you can think of is great. If possible, mention the source too, not just the name Thanks Alon |

Hello,
I do not think that Corinda's Step 3 is what you are looking for. Here having a super memory is the effect, not just the method. I recommend section 6 of Leo Bourdreau's book Spirited Pasteboards. It has tricks which make advantage of the ability to instantly memorize a binary sequence (in fact - the random cards' orientation in an one-way back design). Note however, that an experienced memory expert likely wishes to improve the memory method explained in this book by using a mnemonic code that assigns a letter not just to a single card but to a sequence of several cards. |

A Google search will reveal a lot of sources in the field of recreational mathematics instead of magic.
The best starting point for this kind of work is: www.mayhematics.com/t/t.htm For magicians, this video is a good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWM5pKYZCHw And it is never wrong to read good literature such as... Roy Norman: Knight's Tour Genuinely From Memory, in: Magigram, vol. 23, issue 4, Dec 1990 Tarbell Course in Magic, Lesson 29 - The Chess Knight's Tour Jean Hugard: Modern Magic Manual (1939), p. 299 - The Knight's Tour Tony Corinda: Thirteen Steps to Mentalism, Step 3 (1958) - The Knight's Tour However - memorizing is the effect here, not the method (which was the original question). |

...I forgot to recommend "Moe's Look at a Card" and "Moe's Move a Card"
