Does anyone know of a place that I can view the Peter Marvey manipulation act from the World's Greatest Magic special? I saw a clip of it, and now I'm very interested in seeing the whole thing. If anyone can help me out here, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, CK $

He has a clip of this on his website. It's worth checking out. Do a search for 'Peter marvey', then enter his english site.

I think he saw the clip already, and wants to see the whole thing.

Why would a gambler be interested in Marvey's act. He does not do anything with gambling.

The silk production can't be purchased. It's something Marvey created himself, though there are similar ideas on the market.

I am more impressed with his 4 glass productio and vanish. I thought this was the highlight of his act.

Great acts are fun to watch as they can inspire us to create our own unique brand of creative magic. Watch them, learn from them... but do not steal from them.

The silk production is black art, look at the silks carefully after he produces them.

Black art works nicely if you can work it against your own costuming. I just think it can be a hinderance if you have to rely on a black art backdrop etc.
I believe Marvey uses black art principle set against his own costuming. This works quite well and you become your own black art curtain. Kyle

Hi,
Now here is the answer to the original question of this topic: Craig, Peter Marvey has a SVCD on the market with his complete show from beginning to end. But the single parts of the show are separate. I saw his manipulation act on the internet clip and it is not even close as good as the whole thing on the cd. The CD is available directly through Peter. So you either get his SVCD or you have to find somebody who has the World Greatest Magic on tape. Regards Philipp

Peter seems to have a great thing going on and some of the effects are real wows...especially to magicians. There are some practicality issues that seem out of the question for most circumstances.
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Keep in mind also that Marvey usually has the perfect staging conditions to be able to do the act that he does. You will have to vary what you do in your own show to the venues you plan on working.

And Peter wears a velour jump suit loaded up big time.
It looks like he lost 15 pounds at the end of the act. Atkins doesn't even work that fast. |

I liked the way he produced his single cards. If you look close it does not seem as he is doing the standard production. It almost looks as though he has some gimmick giving cards to him. I havn't quite figured it out. Nonetheless, it's a very cool looking routine and performance. I also have it on vcr tape but no way to produce it.
Take care, Bry |

If I recall right, he does have a gimmick that feeds him cards in a sort of way. It allows him to open his fingers more before producing the singles. However the method, the bottom line is what it looks like and the audience reaction to it.
