If you go to ChinaTown in just about every large city......you'll find dollar size replicas.
They are steel, so throw a good magnet in your back pocket and you have a hook coin, if you know what I mean. They're usually around a buck each. Can't go wrong. |

Well they've arrived, lighter than Morgans in both weight and colour, still magnetic 32mm and perfect for practice
(They do not have any indication that they are copies etc stamped in so as alway caveat emptor)... |

Where can I find some walking liberty replicas? And are there gaffed walking liberty replicas? I’m fine with buying real walking liberties, the gaffs are just so expensive

Hey - The thing about silver dollars (Morgans or WL) is the sound. Silver has a very distinct sound. I don't have replicas, so I can't compare. But I know the difference when I'm working with silver compared to clads by the sound alone. Silver has such a nice ring.

With a magnet in your back pocket, you have a "hook" $ bill! Thanks. Herr Zaubermann, for reminding me!

These things are great. I bought a set of ten, and loved it. They are the perfect weight (three fly is so much faster and easier). They are magnetic.
I have since purchased a gravity flipper very well made, the flipper part is double sided with head and tail . Then I got an expanded shell that nearly completely covers the steel Morgan. It is so much better than the Eisenhower expanded shells. They even have Morgan folding coins. And there are matching palming coins which are great for specific effects (Miser’s dream) I don’t buy (pun intended) that these are fraudulent. They don’t look like real Morgan’s (and they are Magnetic). They are sold as Magician’s supplies on Amazon, and have been listed for at least 2 years. By the by, you can “deface” and destroy your own US Currency as long as you are not defauding. Are all of the touristy penny flattereners and magic shells made from real coins are still being sold. It is not being used as counterfeit coins. Hell, they cost more than the face value of the real thing. |

From my experience using replica morgans, the weight is nice, lighter than the coins I typically use but still have that great size, using these easily adds 8 inches to my muscle pass. Make sure you are careful about them rusting. I have had a few in the past that would develop little rust spots fyi

I just received my set of "exploded" Morgans and they are nice. It is four sets of:
1) Replica Morgan 2) Expanded Shell 3) Bigger Expanded Shell 4) Largest Expanded shell Everything nests nicely, and it is surprising "quiet". I have commented on the weight being perfect before. I am attaching a photo of one set. They are not in "shell" order, but you can see it looks good. This makes for a very very interesting "coins across" and "Coins through Table. They are called Exploded Morgan by JC Magic.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K7Q......F8&psc=1 I really only wanted two of them, and would sell the other two for $40.... |

Glad you like them, but these look like the ones I was referring to earlier in this thread when I said "Many scream "fake" to anyone who's spent time with real Morgans".
Hard to beat the price and most people have never seen a real Morgan so they'll likely work fine. I just can't get over them looking like cr*p compared to the real thing. Quote:

I have had to put my coins in bins and everyone is curious, and thinks they are real. One officer said to another "that's like $400 in silver there." I smile and said they are just imitation for magic, and they think I am saying that so I don't make myself a target. Oddly most people I know have not seen real Morgan's anyway. |

I am wondering if anyone knows where I might see a demonstration of the Kranzo replica Morgan coins which have apparently just become available again at a sale price. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Well, I paid about $1.40 each.... |

Ah, makes sense.
Do the replicas leave a smell behind on your hands like clad coins tend to do? |

To me the replicas are obviously the better choice. If you lose one, no big deal. They are magnetic and work great with holdouts. Better than a coin with a magnet in it. you don't have to worry about which side to put on a mag... holdout.
They are different in sound and appearance only to the super picky owner/collector. magic is not for the super picky but for the entertainers and movers and shakers. So I go with replicas. If you want to carry a silver small fortune in your pocket and lose them from time to time that is fine, but that is not my thing. |
