May I suggest you take a look at Karrell Fox's multiplying sponge ball routine. I mentioned it in my first posting. I have a friend who makes adjustments to my props and he made a little plastic funnel that I attached to a hand squeaker that is attached to the inside of a craft paper bag. This makes the squeak noise a bit louder.
The squeaker is my idea. When you produce a ball from a kid nose or ear they hear a squeak. It light and pack small, play big. I can send you a picture of the set up. The routine is simple but effective and get the children involved quite a lot. Ricky |

Very clever, Ricky. You think of the most creative ideas.
I am going to be performing in Windsor, Ontario on 8-5-18 and 8-18-18. If you are near by I will be most happy to chat with you in a restaurant. The tab will be on me buddy. |

Please remember, it's not the fanciness of the bucket that makes the trick entertaining--it's the presentation. As a matter of fact, the fancy bucket takes away from the trick. Tricky Ricky. |

Petco and Petbsmart have dog treat containers and some of them would work as a coin pail.
Next time you go, take a look.

Dick Oslund.
Than you so much for that wonderful DVD (The Road Scholar) Although it was done some years ago I enjoyed every minute of the performance. This DVD is the complete course on how to entertain a audience with small props--yes, I said entertain. It's also a lesson on how to handle a volunteer-- cuing audience to applause with body movements even using his eyes and voice to connect. The best Misers Dream and ball routine I've seen so far. If you've never done the 20th century silk---you will after seeing Oslund's. After all the years it was released I still recommend all kid performers. Dick---you're the consummate performer and entertainer Tricky Ricky |

I don't visit every forum every day! I just checked in here to read the last few days posts, and, I find that my new "press agent" has squealed on me!
This makes about the fifth time this year, that I'll have to buy a new -- and LARGER HAT! Now, I also gotta go get the dictionary and learn what "consummate" means.

Getting back to The Miser's Dream, my latest Wiz Kid Lesson (#2) is available, called "Silver and Gold." I'm sure those who are looking for heavy metal coins and heavy metal clinks into solid metal buckets will be disappointed to learn that my Wiz Kids have been learning to do the Miser's Dream with plastic gold coins which sound more like cookies than coins when they are dropped into a (preferred) glass vase. But the sound is easily improved by mixing them in with gold painted steel washers, and the best benefit of using the plastic coins is that you can buy them in bulk for very reasonable prices so that when you wander through the audience popping coins from behind little ears, you can then hand them the coin and give it away as a souvenir of the show (Add a couple of bucks to your fee to cover the cost). Afterwards, I liked to teach those who wanted to learn some magic how to make the coin penetrate and then disappear from a Kleenex (facial tissue). The coins I gave away always had a little sticker attached to them with my business info on it, which helped get lots more new shows.
