Hey Dick...your slipping.. Clem could still do the coin star at his age.
Mentioning it is not the bucket, one of the best "bucket"s I ever heard was Sam Berland's empty #10 can. Great sound. Take care.

Well Richard, arthritis sure doesn't care who it affects!!!
Yes, I remember Clem's star! I used a #10 can for years, but, I wanted something a bit "classier". I liked Jay's "Chaarlie Miller" pail, but I changed prop cases, and it wouldn't fit. Finally, I found one of those kitchen gadget holders. It works fine, (cost: $.89)

I always like a regular coin as the sound was heavy. But you could not hold as many as palming coins. I always wanted to Jon Ramsey's bit of changing the coins to gold coins which were really the gold covered chocolates that were given out. I thought it was a great bit.

I always used Solari's Misers Miracle that uses TT with coin attached to it. Then you turn all the "dumped" coins into a jumbo coin. Kids and adults always loved it! Pros and Cons to each different models. The Pro in using Bob's version, for me, is I like to use this when I do festivals so there is no reset.

I thought the Miser's Dream was the most boring magic trick possible until I saw Chris Capehart's version.
I use about 10 Eisenhower Dollars. I only show a coin in my hand a few times in the beginning, then it is an empty hand mimicking pulling a coin from kids' ears. Once the kids see the coin a couple of times, it is not important to show it after that. Even the kid takes coins out of their own ears. Showing the coin every time may be even detrimental. If this was real, you wouldn't be showing it every time. |

For those of you who own Jay Marshall's Magic Inc. "Bell Bucket," can you please tell me if the outside of the bucket is brushed stainless steel or chromed steel?
Thanks |

Old post, but I might as well mention a method I've been using for a while. I use a galvanized steel bucket https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SRX......F8&psc=1 because magnets stick to it, I start with 1 magnetic coin that sticks inside the bucket. That way I can show my hands empty (of course I don't say look my hands are empty)and freely handle the bucket, I can even toss it from hand to hand. Then I slide the coin out and palm it and start the routine. I have a stack of regular coins loaded into a tube in my suitcase table, ready to snatch while my volunteer is in front of the table and I'm talking to the volunteer, nobody notices that I grab the stack. It really works better for me than the more common basic method people tend to use, kids use to more or less figure out what I was doing sometimes. The only downside to the bucket is that it's not as loud as a regular steel bucket, but the trade off is worth it to me.
