This is such a clever idea for a 4-way-out switching envelope.
Here is what some pros say about it: "Arnaud's SWITCH-A-LOPE is super clean and a definite winner!" - Cody Fisher "Bravo Arnaud! Our mutual friend Tommy Wonder would have been so proud on you!" - Dick Koornwinder "It is fantastically hard to make something truly impossible happen with a straight-forward handling that has no tricky-looking stuff going on. Arnaud did it with SWITCH-A-LOPE!" - Richard Osterlind "Great switching device! You fooled me!!!" - Joshua Jay "SWITCH-A-LOPE is verrrryy cooool!" - Stefan Olschewski "SWITCH-A-LOPE is a great idea and really well thought out. It is a wonderful addition to the mentalist armory!" - John Archer More info: https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=62009 Best regards, Titanas

Looks very interesting, and comes with some very high praise as well.
I have a few questions! Does the switch look like the video every time? Also, when it says the spectator can take the prediction out, I assume that it means out of the smaller envelope, yes? The performer must take the smaller envelope out of the larger window one? Finally, what is the larger envelope made of? Looks like foam core.

Hi Last Laugh,
Thanks for the interest! And yes, very happy with the praise! The way you see it on the trailer is exactly the way it shows! The spectators takes out the prediction from the smaller envelope. The larger envelop is made from food board. Arnaud |

Richard Osterlind wrote me a full review for Switch-a-Lope. With his permission I share this with you:
Thanks Richard! Richard said: I am always amazed at how our art continues to grow and how clever some creators are! Switch-a-Lope is wonderful! It becomes obvious, right from the first time you see and handle this incredible prop, that Arnaud van Rietschoten has spent years perfecting this effect. It is perfect! You show a large envelope with a clear window that take up almost the entire surface and can obviously hide nothing. Inside is a colored envelope that can be signed by one of the volunteers. You perform a routine and then go to your prediction. The envelope is openly and fairly removed, You can see there are NO SWITCHES! The large prediction, a full-sized paper, is removed and opened. Your prediction is right and the envelope is otherwise empty! It is that direct! You can do this with a spectator standing right next to you! When I first saw the video of this performed I thought, “Wait a minute – there is no switch! That is the same envelope he removed!” I love effects like this! Everything looks so fair and simple and yet the secret behind it all is DIABOLICAL! It is clever, intriguing and WORKS! I will be honest here. I never did a chair routine as everyone else in mentalism seemed to be doing one and they all looked contrived to me. With Switch-a-Lope, I just might start doing it! The revelation is so direct that I believe I could really make it look like real ESP and not just a trick! It is fantastically hard to make something truly impossible happen with a straight-forward handling that has no tricky- looking stuff going on. I applaud Arnaud for his hard work and brilliance! If the spectator can sign the coloured envelope, does that mean any envelope can be used or are plenty of replacements given?

I love the demo. But I also find the marketing interesting. I mean, it is a paper product so I can't imagine it being very expensive to produce, or too labor intensive. I only mention this because of the $59 price tag...plus shipping. At the end of the day, it is just a 4 way out. I like it but not enough to pay $65 plus, especially not knowing how long a paper product like this will stand up to heavy use. It just started me to thinking...would you rather sell 200 at $59 or 2000 at $30? It just seems to be priced too high to me. But I can be completely wrong, of course. But it is interesting from a marketing viewpoint.

Like I said before, in this industry I can totally understand the price tag. There are several great reasons a creator would want a higher price on the release. But unlike others, I only dislike the price because it keeps me from being able to obtain a product that I may thoroughly enjoy using. But since I'm not a working professional, I'm may not be in the target demographic anyway. |

Price....
Well first off maybe it's better that fewer are sold [for the creator] - and at a higher price But price... What are you paying for - some bits of paper [?] Or the idea? Seems like you really want this [I do] but you think as it's only made of paper - they should have charged less... Hmm... try that next time you pay £260 for a Peter Turner download... but there's not even any paper - it should be free It's the idea, thinking, and the teaching, and then the paper[contents] you are paying for. This seems like a very good idea - so maybe it's under priced [?] Having said that... I wish it was cheaper... as it's a little too much for me at this moment x |

When the spec signs the enevelope - can they feel anything inside it [?] I guess not, but they wouldn't/shouldn't be feeling it, so won't be an issue
So... how easy is it to master the L... - is this something that any fool can do in minutes... or to get it smoothe will it take a day or so of work [?] Thanks |
