This is something I hate ad it’s too easy for it to come out or for people to see how much money you have. Now just a few weeks later a new wallet comes out without the need to compromise at a cheaper price and I’m supposed not to feel ripped off. |

Is the new Rebel Note thicker than the original Rebel Wallet?

It's bigger than the original Rebel Wallet. The new style of envelope is interesting vs V.1. Worth having both imho.

Hi Everyone,
Just pitching in to give my views and the reason for "The Rebel Note" 1. This is definitely not an updated version of the Rebel, It is a variation. The Rebel Note will not replace the Rebel Wallet and does not play on the same qualities as the rebel. The Rebel is the smallest most compact card to envelope in wallet on the market, sleek design and aimed at the minimalist. The Rebel Note came to market out of necessity, I listened to my clients, and some comments here in the Café, some of which desired a currency compartment which it now has, but the payoff is, it's bigger, thicker and no longer minimalistic. So in short, the aim is to have both for sale and let the customer choose. For me, the original Rebel is my preference. 2. Price Secret Tannery's focus is on the professional performer, and all marketing and products will always be on the same. I heavily discount the price for almost a week for the very reasons highlighted. This offer was only advertised to Secret tannery clients so they can avail of the Rebel Note without too much frustration. Most professional performers want a backup and this is a nice way to get it. Sadly this offer is now over, but again it was for customers of Secret Tannery and all received a mail with the offer. 3. Goals I will always continue to push forward, I am now working on many prototypes, and when I feel I have hit the nail on the head, they then come to market. This will mean at times new products will arrive but the aim is always for the right reason, pushing the art of magic forward in the best way I can. But one thing is for sure, I can stand over all my products and reasons for bringing them to market. I really do feel I have set the bar but I'm not finished. If I can better something, or add something, I will. 4. Rip off? I don't produce cheap products, look at all the comments about quality and design. Again, I am a professional magician by trade, I use all my products and wouldn't sell anything I wouldn't use myself. For sure you have many choices for cheaper and more expensive wallets. Lastly. I love the Café for all it stands for, it gives you and me a platform to voice our opinions and thoughts and help out fellow magicians, as a token to all put the time to research, I am giving a Café discount! Use "Café20" at check on the Rebel Note to receive 20% discount at checkout. https://www.secrettannery.com/product-page/the-rebel-note Thanks again. Perform In Style! Thanks Gerard and I agree with everything you just said. The Rebel Note feels like a very different wallet even though it might look and sound similar to the Rebel. I'm so glad I bought it at such an amazing price. I also own the original Rebel and the two complement one another beautifully.

I'll know soon as I'm sure my rebel note is close to arriving, but are the envelopes and slides the same? I'm assuming the instructional video would be the same yes?

Sorry, when I said the same, I should have clarified. The envelopes are the same but yes the color had changed due to a major shortage but white are back now.
The slides will vary in size ( we are talking no more than 3 mm) as each batch of wallets is manufactured. But with regards to the workings of the wallet, unless you have something to compare with the only difference you will notice is the color of the envelopes and even that would be rare. I think you can expect to see these type of changes when working with crafted items, they are not on a continuous manufacturing run therefore changes like this can happen. But it’s in no way an inferior supply, I wouldn't put them out if I thought it was a sacrifice. Some prefer black envelopes! Thanks again. Gerard |

Can anyone answer a couple of questions about the practicality of the Rebel Wallet for items like rings?
I currently use a JOL Plus wallet to load a ring into an envelope. The advantage of the JOL, for this, is that it's impossible for the ring to end up anywhere but inside the envelope. I've tried Harry Robson's instant reset system, and as much as I like the convenience, it's very possible, especially with something like a ring that is not completely flat, for the loaded item to end up next to the envelope rather than inside it. Does the set up of the Rebel Wallet guarantee, like with the JOL, that a ring can only end up inside the envelope? Also, I see there is an option to buy extra slides. I assume that multiple slides are only needed for the sealed envelope feature? That if you have 10 slides, it just means you can have 10 envelopes set up in your pocket ready to be loaded? |

Can you load just as easily from the hip pocket than inside the breast pocket?

Just received the Rebel Note, and I have to say the quality is off the charts. I also have a Quiver, which I don't love (for a few reasons - the leather feels cheap, and the secret seems too obvious when handling). The leather on the Note, by comparison, feels amazing. It's a fair competitor for my similarly priced normal wallet. Looking forward to putting it into action and seeing how it works in practice.

Been working this wallet over the course of my fall/winter shows. It’s been wonderful and it’s a joy to use. The best card to envelope option out there in my opinion. The price is great and the quality is even better. Really good stuff here folks.
