I am working on hand shadows to add to my act, but I am having difficulty finding the correct type of lamp to use. I've tried a number of lamps, flashlights without success - the hand shadow image is blurred.
Any suggestions?

A simple incandescent light bulb (non-frosted) would probably be best, followed closely by a small spot or flood light. The simpler the light source, the sharper the shadow. Anything that diffuses, reflects or refracts the light would probably soften the shadow as well.

If you want razor sharp, try a slide or film projector.

How about using an overhead projector or a multi media projector (the brand name are Infocus, Toshiba, Compaq/HP, etc). The second one is more expensive but use more than 1000 lumens bulb.
