So this is "The Gift", but using a glass and a cloth (and I'm not saying that the method is the same, but the result is).
The glass is clear, but must be covered until the reveal. The prediction can be shown before you start, but your hand must clamp down on the cloth as you do it. Then the dirty part is whisked away. The glass is never touched (so the ad truthfully states), but the cloth is. It can't be removed by the spec. Why can't the prediction just rest in an uncovered clear glass or on the table, since the only purpose of the glass is to hold the prediction? After all, you already showed the prediction to me, and I'm not going to try and grab it out of the glass before the need for the prediction arises. The glass can be examined, but the cloth cannot. I realize that this is all just "thinking like a magician" stuff. "The Gift" is not clear, but the spec can open and handle and "examine" everything themselves (not that they would want to "examine" anything, since it does not need to be "examined"). And the way that I use it is totally justified, since I actually carry things essential to the trick inside of the box. Since I already own and love and actually use "The Gift", there's no need for me to buy this. If "The Gift" did not pre-date "Glassandra", I might have gotten it. The only advantage I see that "Glassandra" has over "The Gift" is the $45 that you'll save buying it. But you get what you pay for. PS- That was all just speculation on my part. PPS- Titanas was keeping his lips tight for this release? It must have been the first time that he ever did that!

Jack Straw,
You’re not thinking like a magician in a negative way, you’re thinking like a logical person to try to avoid any aspects of an effect that aren’t outwardly justified. Magicians who don’t at least think about eliminating possible explanations that laymen might have are inexperienced, lazy, and/or lack needed analytical skills. What’s the outward justification for using a cloth in this effect? The trailer doesn’t contain a satisfactory justification in my opinion. If you wanted to keep audience members from grabbing a prediction that you placed in a glass to isolate it, why wouldn’t you just turn the glass upside down over the prediction instead of covering it with a cloth? Thanks, Larry, I agree with what you say.
But Titanas, Dr Rob and Luca love it (Luca has been waiting forever for this!), and I figure that I'm going to take some hits for my statements. And to be honest, I'm not sure if most specs are going to analyze it that way. Some might, though.

There is far too much heat on the cloth I am sure this could be tweaked to hide something you can see that is just a handling issue that needs cover as what you see is what you would not normally do. Im going to mention Bill Abbotts The Thing that used a cloth but there was a work around that was included that made it a hell of a lot cleaner and in my opinion this needs that addition. Based on re-watching the Dwarf DVD (which was gathering dust in my drawer for a very reason unfortunately), I agree with what has been said about the awkwardness of the cloth and its handling. Reading the above endorsement is almost more weird, actually. I could think of so many more impressive multiple out solutions, imho. Pity, as I liked most of Olschewski's previous creations a lot!

I don't think spectators really think that deeply about why a cloth is on a glass. It's just .... There...maybe for theatrics or what not.
No spectator is closely scrutinizing every single part of your routine. There's no justification for a lot of things we do... Why should we even keep a prediction in a glass...why not just hand it to a spectator...or why should we keep it in a black box instead of handing it to a spectator? Obviously the spectators don't really give much care to these aspects as much as we think they do. Sleepy |

That enormous cloth is a huge deal breaker. Looks awful. Is this not yet another step back in what is already available out there?

I think can be a very elegant solution for a parlor show using a wine 🍷 glass.
Is all about the context in the show why we use or not use something and I honestly don’t think people will think something about the cloth etc... obviously I already have a routine in mind where I know how this will play so, as I said, is all about context.. that’s obviously just my opinion

I understand that, Luca.
The way that I believe that you do performances, it's good for your style and performance venues. You dress very elegantly and perform on cruise ships and things like that, if I'm not mistaken. Most people here don't. So this really is a product for a niche market instead of the masses of magicians.
