Yes, after all this time, still no Cubism Maestro and no communication ever from Dave Forrest, not even the courtesy to reply to a registered posted letter which I have his signed receipt for. I even offered to accept other products from his range if he was unable to supply, at least I thought I might get something for my money, but No.

"Why did my post get taken off?" I don't know merlins but I suspect some of the repeated posts that you spent some time posting today will be removed - just for repeat posting. Im not saying I would or want them removed - just a thought. Cheers one and all! (Except DF that is - only joking Dave if your reading this I still .....) |

So what happened here? Some people got the product, some didn't? I notice that Forrest hasn't been online on Kickstarter since last May, which is also when he stopped posting on the Full52 Facebook.

That's right, but rather than "some people got the product, some didn't" I think it is "a few people got the product and most didn't". Unfortunately, I'm in the majority.

There is a huge difference between that and NOBODY got it, so he ships a few out to try and quiet the complaints. |

He'll probably blame covid 19 for not being able to send them out now

I should have made this a "REVEAL" to a magic trick as I came to this thread thinking someone posted the subject as they did above!
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Dave could use the lockdown to package up all the Cubism Maestros he claimed were filling his house and take them to the post office (all still open across the UK).
Will he though? Hmmmmmmm. |

Well, I guess I got double screwed. Not only was I a kickstarter backer and never received the product, but I took another risk and decided to order a unit from Merlin's in the UK. It came today, looks nice, but I think I hit upon the problem and why he is not sending them out and probably can't afford to fix. The magnet in the chop cup is too weak. The one chopped die (you get a bunch of dice for the routine) barely is suspended. The slightest tap or jostle will dislodge it. I tried it with about a dozen chopped balls, olives and other stuff I have from the "collection" and its all the same. I'm going to have to pull out the original Cubism that I had ordered from Afghanistan back in 2014 and see if that cup is any better! On the positive side, I now have 3 (count them three) dice cups I can use and I was reading some old lecture notes from Dan Fleshman (written by John Mendoza) and there is routine in there called "a Shot for You!" that requires a nice dice cup. Looks like I'll be working on that routine!

Thank You, Peckham for sharing that. I am sorry to hear of that misfortune and hope you get lots of mileage out of the set anyway.

Send it back to Merlin's if it's not fit for purpose. They sold you a defective unit. Mine works perfectly.

So this was just a scam? No more no less?

Your choices in life can be compared to watching a magic trick: You can continue to believe the illusion in front of you, find the intrigue and desire to learn more, or quit paying attention the moment you feel deceived.
